Cable Car Time Machine

United States
July 19, 2020 3:51am CST
I found this picture on Wikimedia Commons and thought it was really cool. I really think they should hold on for dear life, but they seem unconcerned. This reminds me of old movies and TV shows where people travel in time, and there's always a great amount of colors and shapes or lines flying by. I think I might pass on this ride, especially if I was one of the people hanging on outside. Free to use on Wikimedia commons

I've been on that cablecar in San Francisco a few times with hubs and the kids. We sat inside.

I saw them a long time ago, but I'm not sure either.

What is going on at moment at the beaches and elsewhere, people gathering without mask or paying heed to social distancing at the time of this coronavirus crisis, is not much different.

@misunderstood_zombie More than the law we should wear it for personal safety and in turn community safety.

@msdivkar I agree, but I just like them, but law or not I would still wear them.

I think people are tired of masks, I know I am, but still now it's a law and we must wear them when we go out.

Yes, it is really old, and I think they keep them around for the tourists.

I wonder if they are even allowed to be on the outside standing.

Just about to say I've never been on cable car, but then I remembered I used to work in Hong Kong, in the 70s, and used the Peak Tram. I have also found out that there is one in LA. Now I know!

@misunderstood_zombie I had a quick look online and technically the one in LA and the Peak in Hong Kong are railways, so now I know!

I didn't know they had them in LA. I wish we had them in the DFW area.

I think those are so cool. If the speed is not too fast no need to stop just jump on and off at will. Free transportation in crowded cities?

I don't think it's free but it's very cool.
