I snapped

United States
July 21, 2020 8:17am CST
It happened last night. It was inevitable, something I had already prepared for. Plastic hooks just aren't as sturdy as the aluminium ones. Luckily I have both plastic and aluminium ones, and while I don't have the I hook in aluminium, I will eventually get it. I did tape this together, but honestly I ended up just going down a size and grabbing an H aluminium hook. Photo is mine, sent to friends on snapchat and then saved so I could share here.

Well, a lesson learned. What is this thing by the way?

It's a crochet hook. I taped it together, but it's snapped in half. If you look towards the left of the picture, you can see the tape.

@Janet357 Right, sorry. I just took the picture on my bed since I was sitting on it when crocheting last night.

I always rather had the aluminum hooks also when I still crochet.

The aluminium ones definitely feel much nicer. I am glad that I had bought some aluminium ones too.

Right, I knew it would. I like the aluminium ones better anyway, but the plastic ones were affordable at the time I bought them.

I only use the aluminum ones for that reason....plastic ones always broke on me. I had to laugh when I read your post because I thought you had snapped and gone off on someone

I am going to get a set of aluminium hooks I saw on ebay. It's $7 and seems to be all but the biggest (afghan / tunisian) hooks.

@LindaOHio All in a nifty zip up case too. That's one thing I've been wondering about.. Right now I have my hooks, yarn and yarn needles all on the same shelf. I am thinking I'll love the hooks to the top drawer in my plastic dresser, but am not sure.

I open and use it because that is one of the only ways I communicate with friends unless I see them in person.
