Is your area still seeing spikes in Covid19?

Where I live...we definitely are. The months we were locked down and about a month and a half after we were seeing maybe 50 new cases a day at most. However this past week or two it has been 500 to 700 new cases. Most though are coming from one major hotspot. My county is up to 325 (I think) - and that's since it all started. My state as a whole is up to 15,000 +. Thankfully most are recovering.

@amitkokiladitya We're up to over 17,000 - although over 5,000 have recovered. There have been 148 deaths....which is a very small percent.

It's so sad but even here we're experiencing a spike but for us, the majority are foreign. Once they test positive, they're sent back to their own countries. So far, we've had no more deaths beyond the 1 right at the beginning. We're definitely looking at having to adapt to a new normal, sadly.

@MommyOfEli2013 Thanks so much It really hits home when it's someone you know. I'm so sorry about your rising cases too. It's the same here in terms of the growing numbers. The numbers really spiked in the last two weeks because people have started behaving like idiots. There were parties everywhere, people travelling out of their zones, people flouting the rules etc So now we're back in hard lockdown for two weeks - but it's just the capital and surrounding areas. This latest lockdown started on Friday but luckily, we'd heard whispers before the announcement and decided to go out shopping to stock up. Thank God!!

@MommyOfEli2013 I know. It's just sad and it's hit my dad hard because it was his friend from way back. Thanks so much and they just keep finding new cases. It really sucks to be back in lockdown. But we aren't too bothered about being out there. It's just that our local stores aren't very good. We wish we lived nearer town. Over here, masks have been mandatory since April when we got hit. But now establishments including stores are turning away anybody who refuses to wear a mask, practise social distancing, have their temperature taken and sanitise. I guess it's because if they flout the rules, the government has said they risk losing the license to run, could face a lengthy jail term and a hefty fine of a minimum $2,000. 2020 is a rubbish year

@Lushlala Oh yea, I can imagine for sure - about it hitting harder when it is someone you know. Sorry that the numbers are growing there in the last two weeks....and there are people being idiots over there. That would suck so much to be in a lockdown again. I couldn't imagine! Hopefully it will only be for two weeks and not have to go on. That's good you stocked up and such in time. Here school will be starting in like 2 and a half weeks, so don't want that to happen while in lockdown like how school ended!! We aren't on lockdown, thankfully - but masks are required in a lot of places.

The numbers are still going up. Government might make us go back to limited people outside again. People wont stay home and avoid being outside

@MommyOfEli2013 People aren’t honest enough to provide accurate information when they are asked. Hence, people they go in contact with gets it and so on and so forth.

I am sorry to hear that! That's a big jump! Kind of like our 10 that we were stuck at jumping up to over 300. Hopefully it gets under control soon! Feels like we are going backwards kind of.

@MommyOfEli2013 I think a lot of the reason it keeps increasing here is because of the crazy people that refuses to wear a mask and some people will still crowd together, like at those protest for example.

It seems like we are seeing a spike in cases but a reduced number of deaths per day. I did hear on the news we are having a RISE in hospitalizations, but a decrease in ICU stays. Confusing. I am curious to know if all the mask wearing here is proving to be useful or if the virus itself is dying out/slowing down... Either way, stay safe & healthy!

Well that is good that the number of deaths per day is down. That does sound confusing, for sure. That would be a very good question. Here they said on the news that only about 30% of people here wear masks, and only like 20% are staying home. So hopefully they masks there is helping. or it's slowing down.

Yes, we are seeing increases again. Masks are now mandatory; and our governor wants to nip this in the bud. So many states are not doing well since some of the restrictions were lifted.

Sorry that you are too and that masks are mandatory. Here they are not, well except for where there are hotspots. That is true, seems most lifted them too soon....but I would not ask to go back to being locked down.

The biggest spike for COVID-19 is in Jakarta and every day there are more than 400 people. Once reached the highest record of 1000 people.

Pretty much that is what is happening here in Florida. The lockdown is over and people can go out but there are now more cases of people coming down with the virus. Our area is not crowded for I am guessing that this is happening in much more crowded areas like Miami Beach. I am sorry to hear you also have more cases.

Sorry to hear the same is happening there. Yes, once the lockdown ended it seemed to start going up in most places. I can imagine it being bad in Miami/etc and bigger areas. Ours is mostly concentrated in two of the major counties.
