Despite the despites!

My 2 older brothers and my sister-in-law arrived here at home yesterday at dawn. Of course, we were caught off-guard because we expected they will be 'detained' in a hospital facility for 2 hours. I had to get out of my room at 5AM with face mask on. They came from the capital city which is known for having many new patients of the virus. It is therefore expected of them to know we have to cautious about the possibilities of the spread of the virus; they should be aware that I have lowered immune system. I literally was a 'bandit' the whole day at home. Wearing the washable face mask, I sometimes would go to my room and breath normally sans mask. This morning, my siblings planned that we have dinner outside in a restaurant tomorrow just like before. Despite the enthusiasm of my siblings to have a reunion of sorts, I had to beg off. My son too, will stay with me. There are 26 new cases here in my city, and I would not even want to compromise myself even though I wear a mask. The curve has not yet flattened and I think we are still on wave one. My brothers will leave on Saturday while my third brother will leave on the 27th. Hopefully, my 2 older brothers will send off my third brother back to UK on the midnight of 29th. Despite the despites, we won't see him off even to the bus terminal. he will be fetched by the bus at home.

@ridingbet wow. Our country is inflating the number of cases. Lying and say ing people are dying from it, that are not. I don't trust the numbers.

@minx267 me too. the curve has flattened, according to our secretary of health. this comment made by him caused an outrage among the netizens. he should be truthful with the numbers he is stating.

You did the right thing and I wonder why your 2 older brothers and your sister in law visited right now that the situation is so bad. Be careful, keep your mask on, wash often your mask, keep distance.

they have another reason for coming over. my oldest brother sold his parcel of land to somebody and he received the payment here in our house. that is why they could not postpone their trip coming here.

You can't eat with a mask on. I certainly don't blame you for not going.

they did not push through last night due to that problem last night, of my brother's mode of transportation going to Manila. I and my son ste, not in the dining table, but a distance from them; we ate buffet-style.

I don't blame for being cautious, I try not to go around to many people myself ether. That's like here in the United States, I don't see how it's ever going to die down if people keep crawding together and them keep opening places. That's like them saying they want the kids to start back to school, I just can't picture a child keeping that mask on all day, them kids will get tired of wearing them and take them off.

i sympathize the kids not wearing masks but only their parents. it is not a common notion that kids are free from getting the virus in to their system.

thank you. cases are rising to this date, and i wonder really why this particular government secretary is not yet removed from office, because he made so many blunders now. the president though has his trust on this entity.

It sounds like your family is being rather irresponsible - they shouldn't even come near you as they know you have health problems. I hope you manage to avoid the virus Ingrid.

yes, they were tested negative for the virus and they were extra-careful that they maintained their distance far from me. i understand why they wanted to go home. it was an instant reunion for us 6 siblings at this most unusual moment. they did not have the 14-day quarantine and they maintained their face masks as always.

It's a very difficult situation when our relatives arrive here because we shouldn't compromise with our safety and cannot hurt them too

that is why for anyone coming to visit us, they should be able to pass the health test so the virus won't infect the 'healthy' ones.

In case a family member gets infected they will inform others first.
