If Only We Had Listened...

Dr. David Ho, Harvard researcher in AIDS/HIV research and expert virologist, stated four months ago that we needed to be in sinc as a nation and gave us two options. The simultaneous option, where all 50 states worked together and stayed at home not coming out at different times and really stayed in place. Or, the sequential option, which each state does their own thing. If the president had risen to this horror and worked with Dr.Wauci we would be going into the fall having nearly having obliterating this virus. Our president chose, at the outset however, to give each governor their own decisions on what they thought they should do. This became the confused mess we are in now. If only we had followed Dr. Ho's advise.
He has isolated anti-bodies that are extremely potent in reversing the virus. But still it will take us forever to get past this.
How does this make you feel?

According to law, the governors have the right to make decisions for their states...not the President. Either way, we have surely messed this whole thing up. I am disappointed that the virus has been around as long as it has been.

@celticeagle Yeah, they are saying there will be a vaccine around the end of the year; but it will be a long time before everyone can be vaccinated. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

I am no virologist, but I have always thought that the nation as a whole should be doing the same thing at the same time in order to beat this . . . I mean, that makes the most sense to me. But that was way back when . . . I hope there is still hope for us now. It's late in the game now . . . it is so frustrating knowing that we could have been in a better place now had we acted earlier.

@much2say .......If the president had backed the Dr. who initially explained what needed to be done I think that would have gone a long way to ending all of this.

I think if people had stayed home instead of venturing out we'd be in a situation where kids could go back to school and things could be more back to normal by now. Instead, look what we have.

@celticeagle We would have been ahead of where we are now for sure. And still there is not more direction from upstairs as there could be . . . but by now so many are divided on what to do. I really don't know where this is going now.

It is totally embarrassing as far as I am concerned, to see the way the US is handling this. No PPE equipment, not enough anyway. It is pathetic. We are like a third world country.

Yes well we have it pretty much under control here in Connecticut and masks are worn but some states had almost no infections so they didn’t need to do the same thing as some other states like New York or California

Glad your state has it under control. It seems that many are just selfish and do not to go by the rules. If it doesn't affect them why should they sort of mentality.

If things always worked out way there wouldn't be anything like suffering in this world.

I have a few things to say about the mask situation too. People are so selfish and self involved now days.

I'm not convinced like you are that the president made the wrong choice although I'm pretty convinced that our governor made the wrong choices I don't see how everyone could be kept at home how do you then eat somebody has to bring you food and that person is outside of the house it isn't going to work plus somebody has to pay a lot of people are getting paid the money is going to have to come from somewhere going to owe somebody a lot more money than we did before.
I do not agree.
Sorry for the long sentence this is speaking for texting or whatever it's called and I have to remember to put a period in from time to time which I did not but I don't see typos. I will double check

I am not either. I am doing okay. Just getting more and more anxiety ridden and depressed. I am laying down most of the time. Wish I had some energy or feel a reason to want to accomplish anything. No fun! Hope you are doing well.

Hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure no matter what we or the president had done there would have been backlash.

True. But, I do think the president could have handled things differently.
