In a webinar..

That's what I am doing right now. As a part of our teacher grooming and upgrading our skills, we have to attend something like a webinar or talk every Friday. And it is going on right now. I am attending it. The topic is " Teenage and spiritual growth of a teenager...How we can contribute as an educator". I have attended to this topic by this speaker earlier too. He is a wonderful speaker and I have known him personally over years as I have worked as volunteer for his NGO. He has been like a personal mentor to me over last seven years. But still listening to him each time seems like a fresh talk. He is spontaneous and always comes out with some new and beautiful points. The webinar is on in other window and I am listening to it along with peeping in here in between. It will go for another two hours. And at the end of the webinar I have to talk to teachers about emotional well being of teenagers. I have been given a slot for 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of queries from teachers. I have talked about this topic in several High schools earlier including my elder daughter's school. I have always got a good response from teachers and parents. Today also few parents from High school have accepted the invite to join us for this talk. I hope that this talk would be helpful to them. Will keep peeping in here for next one hour till I am called to be on video and talk

Why not? The parents would be interested to discuss matters pertaining to the emotional well being of their youths.

Not many parents participated. We wish that there were more but still we had a handful of concerned parents and they did have a lot of queries. It went on very well. We were very happy with it.

@Nakitakona Some parents feel these to be a waste of time. They only like to pin point shortcomings in children or school and teachers. Not interested in knowing their responsibility.

@piyushbhatia1 He is the principal of my younger daughter's school. She goes to a Steiner school and I am an active parent member there. I do a lot of volunteer work for his organization. So I interact with him on regular basis and have personally known him for years now.

It was indeed a very interesting and informative webinar. I have been giving talks on such topics to teachers and parents from last five years as a part of my profession. This was my first experience of a virtual talk.

I generally do not find webinars that good. Some can really put you to sleep. But this one was too good and kept our interest till end with the humor and presentation. This was the first time that I conducted such talk on a virtual platform and I was not sure how it will go. But glad that my first experience was a good one and it encourages me to do some more in future.

Thanks to the technology. Even in this pandemic crisis, we are able to carry on with job and education on a digital platform. Though it does not come close to the physical seminars and interactions but nevertheless it is good.
