Putting down my pen and picking up my hook.

I had an idea for something a few days ago and started creating an outline. I spent part of today working on the outline and then revising it. I'm putting the "pen" down for now though, and am going to pick up the crochet hook.
I followed a pattern for a maple leaf but the last point.. Well there was something wrong with the pattern I think. Either way, I am going to try it again today, and when I get to that point again I am going to do a few less stitches than the pattern calls for before I start the next section.
I have more yarn arriving soon too which will make me happy. Not a lot of yarn, but soon I hope to make a bigger yarn purchase.
What's your day / night / week looking like?

You have made me curious as to what you are going to crochet? Any plans?

I've crocheted four leaf clovers, maple leafs, and hearts. I'm working on a blanket, and some things like dish cloths. Today I am going to work on a drawstring bag.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That is awesome! Can you also use the leafs for something practical like placing warm mugs on them and such?

@Downwindz They aren't quite big enough for that. I plan to use them as a bunting / streamer decoration. I might also use them as gift tags. Just crochet them in different colors.

Hope you can solve the mystery of the maple leaf pattern.
My crocheting project ( a baby blanket ) is sitting by my chair untouched today. Long story but it was one of those days.

I was able to figure it out. Actually, I went on reddit to ask on their crochet group, and then when I went to follow the same pattern today it looks like it's been updating. So maybe I talked to the pattern's creator and didn't know it.
I have an afghan I could be working more on, but I don't really feel like it.
I understand "one of those days".

@Marilynda1225 Thank You, Me too. I've been working on reading patterns instead of watching youtube videos. Though I like to choose patterns that also have a video to go along with it.

I've not crocheted before. Sounds like fun. Is it hard to pick up?

No, not really. Especially now that youtube is around and you can follow their tutorials. I tried using one of those "I taught myself to crochet" kits many years ago, but it was a little mind boggling. I kept doing slip stitches instead of crochets, and I felt as if the patterns were a little more advanced than a beginner would be comfortable with.

@LindaOHio Yep.
I'll be seeing said friends on THursday and I am thinking about the possibility of bringing my crochet with me and working on some things there.. It just depends though, the more I think about it the less likely I'll do it. she has animals. Her cats especially love blankets.

Youtube is such an awesome resource for it. I tried to learn years ago from a kit and that didn't work well for me.
