Be thankful that you still have a job

I find it odd that someone during this crisis still complains that her company has not increased her salary due to pandemic. I told her that she should be thankful because a lot of companies have closed down which means unemployment to so many. She is in a hurry to have a side job which is quite hard to have during this time. We should be content and thankful that we still eat at least 3x a day. So many people are hungry, sick and unemployed this time. So, whatever we have now, thank God that we are still blessed.

That is true not timely to ask for an increase in salary because everyone is affected by this pandemic and everyone is really trying to save money so they can sustain people and continue operation during this hard times.

We should be thankful for what we have but we could also quietly search for additional income without complaining and murmuring but rather praying with faith and hoping for more blessings and success during hard times.

You are right, but remember, there are unhappy employees all over. Sure people would be happy to have their job, but when you are stuck in a job, that you don't like, you will complain.

So many people have lost their jobs due to Covid. It's sad to see what's happening . As much as my daughter hates going to the office and would rather work from home , she's grateful that she's still getting a paycheck. We have to count our blessings

@Janet357 guess anyone who's lost their job will either continue looking for a new one in the same field or change careers. Doesn't matter what you do these days as long as you get a paycheck

I fully agree with you. Many companies are closing because of the covid . Restaurants, those non essential businesses are losing lots of money daily. Look at the restaurants and shopping mall. One by one are closing. Many employees are out jo now. I am grateful that my boss is maintaining the company well. No pay increase is saddening but not for a long time. Just wait and see.

People need in understanding the whole picture. The pandemic is also affected individuals as well as companies. Most companies are facing decreased demand and are struggling to stay afloat. It does not make sense to ask such a company for a raise.

Correct! Employees must also think or consider the situation of the company. Because we are in crisis. We were not like several months ago.
