Yesterday I had a discussion about how to find good tools to open coconuts. I "researched" it and then I bought it online.
I just bought the basic coconut opening tools since I don't want to cost more as we really don't have coconuts often You can see the attached image and these are the basic tools I bought.
I must say that I still felt exhausted to open the coconuts with it. Later I found a secret and then it spent me less time to open the second coconut. And the "flower shape" tool can remove the coconut flesh like noodles and it is very interesting. It works fast and well

I'm with @myklj999 in that I'd prefer to use a saw. Whenever I've had a coconut (which is not very often), I'd like to use the shell for something, such as a bird feeder, so I wouldn't want to smash it randomly, I'd simply saw the top off as neatly as I could and then extract the flesh in chunks with a stout knife (or a screwdriver), The 'flower pattern' grater looks useful, though.
I can understand the rubber-headed mallet but I don't understand the purpose of the other tool from the way I see it used in the pictures.
When we get coconuts here in England, they have usually come from a fairground coconut shy where they are won by throwing wooden balls at them to knock them off a stand. As a result, I'm sure that they're usually well past fresh and very likely rejects sold off cheaply. If I want grated fresh coconut, I can buy it frozen from the Indian shop in the village here. It's a lot cheaper and less trouble than buying a coconut and the tools to open it with!

@youless That explains a lot. First of all, the coconut is youngish and quite soft, especially the sort of bag which contains the 'water'. I see now that the tool with a hole in the centre is really a corer just to take out the top of the nut. Also the nut in the video has had its shell removed professionally. We never see coconuts like this here.
