It has been a struggle to get my husband to wear the mask I made for him in public places. He does keep it in his truck. Has to wear it when he is at the CDL driving school.
Last night he asked me to make 3 masks. Didn't say for whom they were for. I can only assume they are for people at the school. He requested camo print material.
Beginning August 1st there is a state mandate to wear face coverings in public places. I am hoping that he will begin wearing one. If his redneck buddies are wearing one, it must be cool to do so.

@ElusiveButterfly I wouldn't mind having a camo mask. Not sure it would match anything I have, but I just think it would be cool to have one! haha

I am hoping that it doesn't come down to another lockdown. But, I fear that it will be something that is considered again if we continue to have outbreaks.

@simone10 we get a lot of tourists here lately. My sister encountered a couple from PA this past weekend at a restaurant where she works. They said that the came her to celebrate their anniversary because our numbers are low.

@ElusiveButterfly that's what I am afraid of here too. It won't be long until flu season hits and that is supposed to be when the second wave hits. As much as I don't like a lockdown, it may be the only solution if this happens.

I don't think he will be fined, but may be told to wear the mask or not be able to enter a store.

Even with the state wide mandate I doubt that everyone will comply. Some really feel that it isn't necessary.

I think the number spiking the way they have brings it to the forefront that masks are necessary even if we hate them. I hope he is getting the message because Vermont now has the lowest infections.

There are so many who refuse to wear them, not only in Vermont, but in other states as well. I belong to a couple of mask makers groups on Facebook and one posted a question about wearing masks. I am finding that there are way too many people who still refuse to wear them.

@Juliaacv there are so many still that think they don't have to. Even with businesses offering a complimentary mask, they find need to yell and make a scene over being ask to wear one. Sad really.

I believe that there is a part of him that realizes that it is necessary, but he doesn't want to be ridiculed by his buddies for wearing one.

I hope that he starts to wear one.
When I went to the grocery store today there was a lady at a desk just inside the foyer and she was offering customers complimentary masks. I think that gestures like that will help in the long run with most people.

If all of the states would make it a mandate it would help immensely. Also keeping a social distance and staying home when at all possible.

Masks are becoming a fashion statement and a camo one does sound like fun. No one likes to wear a mask but if we can bring some fun into it why not. Hope your husband will wear his mask even if it's not something he wants to do.

I am not 100% certain he wears them when he is out and about. He doesn't say either way when I ask him. He is one of those that believes that if he maintains his social distance he doesn't need one. Keep telling him that he should just in case. It falls on deaf ears.

@JudyEv I want to scream at him when I see he hasn't worn the mask in public. I have been out and about and actually seen him talking with people outside of a convenience store without wearing a mask. Grrrrr

I keep telling him to wear it, but I can't force him. However, I will continue to encourage him to put it on when in public.

He is not understanding the usability of mask, tell him most of the people are in hospital due to careless, they didnt follow the guidelines of Government so mask is necessity of today's scenario not the enforcement.

It's important to wear a mask for the entire family, not just for himself. We all need to sacrifice to make sure that we will not catch the virus and give them to other people.

Our numbers are very low. In fact we were the lowest of the states for numbers. But, had a couple of positive cases arise recently.
I keep trying to convince him the importance of wearing his mask, but it falls on deaf ears. Hopefully this mandate will get him to wear one and the fact that his buddies are wearing them will help.
