Three-fourths resigned!

I don't think I have opened this up here in this site; that my son submitted his letter of resignation in the school where we were employed. he spent 2 years while I spent 14 and 1/2 years as employees. My son resigned because he was not happy anymore with his job description. When I was in school for our case presentation, I would see him running downhill because he had to take pictures from the other admin staff, like the vice president. My son is in charge of publications, but he acted like he was the school photographer. I would get misty-eyed when I see him hurrying going to the higher personnel. At first, I thought he should not resign. But he reasoned out that there is a virus spreading so he opted to work home-based, to which he proudly told me he earns very much more than what he gets from school. As if he was the leader, because when he had his last day in school, several staff also resigned. About 3/4 of them resigned and went to other schools. Last Tuesday, my son told me he received a message from the admin of the school that his presence is needed for a staff meeting. My son replied and chose to ignore. I asked him if he still has outstanding work unfinished; he said none. Working home-based is now more convenient than going to school; enrollees have also dropped down to its lowest, and my graduating level 4 nursing students on first semester have not yet graduated- still on floating status.

you are right. I think your son made a wise decision. Why not put up a tutorial business as both of you are educators? Maybe time to go self-employed.

Good luck on your son's new work. What sort of work is he doing now?

@allen0187 yes it has. my son said to me that he could have gained much now if he did not apply for a teaching job in school.

he is. he says there is no time in or time out; he can stay up late at night or wake up late as well.

I taught for 5 years. If they expected me to teach in person this year, I would’ve resigned in two seconds.

online teaching i believe is the trend now since many teachers fear for their health too.

great, hija. now, because you earn much, they are appreciating whatever financial assistance you can share your family with.

@ridingbet not just the money ate.. I think it's because I am here to buy their needs.. and since I am here, it lessens their worries that I will be exposed to the virus if I am working outside, especially if I am in NCR..

@brokenbee true. it is really better if their daughter lives closer to them in your own house.

I think he did the right thing. No point of working if you feel like you're slowly losing your dignity.
