In many rural area in Indonesia, traditional stove is still in use. People use wood as the "fuel" of the stove. In my Javanese language it is called "pawon" and in Indonesian it is called "tungku".
My parents still use it even they have gas stove too in the kitchen.

Many people here also still use that type of heating system. It is made of mud and wood is used as fuel. They are called as 'Chullahs' here. There is still a belief here that the food cooked on such 'Chullahs' are tastier than kerosene stove or gas stove or micros.

Some foods tastes much better when cooked on those traditional stoves especially when earthen pots are used instead of metal pots which is what is most practical and common now.. There are still a lot of those in our country especially in rural areas. Thank you for sharing .

When i was senior high school I used to have a wood stove in my house too. usually after going home from school I go to the garden to look for branches or broken wood. but after I went to college, we now use gas stoves to cook food everyday.
