At present, the riders need to comply with the approved 'motorcycle safety barrier here in the Philippines. It is also called 'motorcycle divider safety.' The main goal is to protect the rider and his passenger with COVID-19. I am in doubt about the success of this idea. Do you have this kind of protective gear for the rider? What do you think, myLotters? Image Credit: sa.kapamilya.com

@LadyDuck In fact, the barrier is not that sturdy.enough to withstand if there is a strong wind.

@Shavkat If that guy has a small accident that horrible thing will cause a lot of damages to both of them.

@sophie09 I am sure that they wanted to address the problem. However, they need to rethink it.

I can picture it out. I also do this with my backpack in front of me while back riding.

@SHOHANA I hope it is a good idea if there is no COVID-19. I am not sure if I can do this anymore.

When I saw this and heard the local news about it, it really called my attention. I personally think it is not a good idea.

I agree. I find it not appropriate. It will be hassle to use it when traveling.

I also noticed that barrier is not safe, sometimes it is the cause of accident

I am also thinking about it. What if the rider speeds up, then the barrier flies out of nowhere.

It is still debatable how this thing can protect the rider from getting infected since they are still open on the sides of the rider. There are also issues about the safety of using one since it may affect the aerodynamic of the motorcycle which can add to the smooth flow of air.

I agree. That's why I am wondering how did they approve this. It seems that they did not think more about this idea.

I think it's a good idea, anything is better than nothing. Some people here are don't want to wear a mask. Doubt they would use it.

Here using protective plastic, that also endangers me as a passenger while on the road.

@Shavkat I prefer the one that is not partitioned, after all, using it also doesn't prevent the virus from sneaking up beside it.

@May2k8 It will not happen here for now. We still need to have them.

It may happen. Luckily, we don't ride tricycles here. In my city, jeepneys, taxis, and mini buses are the public transportation.

@Shavkat I have no idea if they do something like that here. I think it is one way to separate the passenger from the rider and think it is a good idea or if this does not work then something else has to be found so they can stay separate unless they are family or are together.

Pillion riding is not permitted in my country even with facemask during this Corona pandemic. This cardboard barrier is not affective and can also prove dangerous.

It was not allowed here before. Now, they are allowing them to do it. What a silly idea for them to do this?

I think that could endanger the pillion because the wind pressure from the front which is very strong against the barrier will be able to make it tumble.

As I had seen this photo, the barrier should be up straight. It is really a dangerous tool.

The passenger will be fine sitting at the backside. But then, it is still open at the sides of this barrier. I assumed that there is a possibility that he or she might be infected.

I hope they will change their minds about this concern. It is not really appropriate.
