Deviled eggs and cucumber salad

I made deviled eggs for my daughter's bridal shower Thursday night. Normally the eggs are sliding around in water because I never had a container made for deviled eggs to put them in and because I always rinse them off after I take off the shell so they don't have any shell left on the egg. My daughter found containers to keep the half egg with the deviled part on it which I meant to take a picture of and changed the picture I planned on using originally. While taking out the the yoke after all the eggs were shelled but in order to still keep the egg out of water or sitting in water I put Saran on the bottom of a used egg carton and then put my half pieces of egg in it and then put Saran on top covered it put it in the fridge did it for the next egg carton, and the next and then... When I was ready to put the egg yolk mixture into the other part they were still dry, how exciting. Seriously! Then I put them into the container my daughter bought which by the way I think I still have to pay her back for which is neither here nor there but just thinking out loud literally. Usually I don't make deviled eggs until Easter time and I usually put horseradish in a portion of them. This time I just made them normal I did put some paprika in the yolk mixture and then I paprika'd half of the eggs in case some people don't like paprika but it was already in there so I don't know that it mattered. I don't know what my husband likes for, it just for color, I think. ~~~~ I thought I was done with this post and realized my second picture had nothing to do with the deviled eggs so I will talk about the cucumber salad that the picture depicts which is now the final picture, I think. My mother made cucumber salad for a lot of events and we had it at home a lot too. We used the juice instead of gravy for those of us that liked it on top of our mashed potatoes. She would use milk, cornstarch to thicken, vinegar and sugar and of course cucumbers and then since then I've heard of people using sour cream. I didn't really know that was in place of the thickening. And so I found a recipe online on a keto site for one not even using vinegar but I forgot a lot of the other ingredients like it calls for dill and I don't know what all so I used the vinegar, I used the sour cream, I used keto sugar which is stevia and a little bit of of liquid sweetener and what else did I put in there? Basically that was it, I think and then the recipe called for radishes and I know some people put onions in theirs which I never have so I added red onions and radishes that were already cut and then the cucumbers. My husband will eat cucumber salad but he does not like radishes he won't even try it I thought the radishes in the brine if that's what it's called actually minimize the some of the radish tartness or whatever it is and I really enjoyed it and I made a second batch. So if you make cucumber salad you can make it however you normally do and if you like radishes try putting some radishes in it, and whatever kind of onion you want or none. And so the first picture is my deviled eggs the second picture is the top of the container which has handles and has three sections that lock in under it. The third picture shows three remaining eggs and the 4th picture is the cucumber salad.

@just4him I don't know whether everyone had at least one but I'm sure my extended family did. And some were left for my husband to enjoy later. (I hope I didn't already say that)?

That's all I needed to do for the shower other than take my gift. I found appropriate wrapping paper going through stuff but couldn't find my scotch tape so got some from the bride to be herself.

@paigea lol, exactly. I should have put the gift together earlier then I could have gotten some for myself but I thought I had three rolls in my room so wasn't worried until the wrapping began.

I have a platter specifically for deviled eggs. I dry the eggs off on a paper towel to prevent the accumulation of water.

I've dried during them off before but when put them into an old, large ziplock to-go container water was still a problem.

I've made both for years. It's just that I found a better way to keep the eggs dry and added extra ingredients to the salad.

Not a tradition for bridal shower no but for some they make them all year long at or for many get together. I normally make them only for Easter but we didn't celebrate this year because of covid.
