Another Monday Morning

Good morning! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I just came in from outside on the balcony, and we have a dark cloud directly over us. It won't be long until it's raining. We've had a lot of rain lately. I'm ready for a little sunshine but I know that will also bring back the higher temps and humidity. Can't win for losing. Daisy is just so smart. I take her collar off at night. It's a wide collar so my thinking is she will sleep better without it at night. I know, I'm a little weird. Anyway, every time I put it on and take it off, I say something about Daisy's collar. I never thought she was paying any attention. A couple of days ago I asked her, where's Daisy's collar? She went right to it and put her nose on it. Boy was I surprised. I don't have much planned for today. I do have a series I have been watching on Hulu, so I may watch more of it today. So far, it's one of those restless kind of days. Where you want to do something but nothing sounds good. Do you have days like that? **The photo is from Pixabay.

Daisy is a smart and intelligent dog, she knows exactly what you are talking about. We have a thunderstorm right now, nice cool weather.

She does surprise me sometimes. We can be in the recliner and my brother will walk by and ask if I want to go outside, which means our balcony. Daisy jumps right out of the chair and heads for the door like he is talking to her. She will also jump out of the chair and head for the kitchen when my brother says, Dinner is ready

@simone10 Animals are incredible. When I go out to water the garden the young orange cat of my neighbor comes to me. When I am finishing and I tell him "come with me, I give you some treats", he run to the stairs and wait in front of the door.

@LadyDuck That's pretty cool about the orange cat knowing what you say.

@simone10 when you put the collar on your pet, do you bring her outside?

I wonder how many other words she knows? You might have to start censoring your conversations!!

Oh my, that could be scary I guess because I spend a lot of time during the day alone, I talk to her a lot. Evidently she is picking up on more than I think she is.

@JudyEv I know, right? Daisy and Bella understood when I would say my brother was home, calling him by his name, and they would get all excited, waiting by the door. If I ask my brother if he wants to go outside on the balcony, they would both be at the door waiting for us.

What a beautiful photo! You have an intelligent pet. I had a nice weekend. In an hour, I walk to the city and buy something I need especially those English PG teas which I can only get in an Asian shop. Have a nice Monday to you.

Dogs are smart. I love them. Just curious. What series are you watching on Hulu? I just changed from Netflix to Hulu. If I can't think of anything I want to do, I veg out in front of the TV. Have a good week.

I don't remember what I was watching on Hulu. I know I didn't finish it but I haven't been back on since the day I wrote this post. Normally watching TV helps if I'm bored, but when the restlessness hits, nothing seems to help. I just have to get through the day.

@LindaOHio I seem to feel this way more since I have retired than I did when I worked. Then, there was always something to do or catch up on from working. Now, our apartment stays pretty clean with just the two of us. There is only so much cleaning you can do every day. I thought having my hobbies would help on restless days but it doesn't always.

Thank you! I thought it was so pretty and love is what we should all be thinking about during every thing that is going on in the world. I agree, it is fun so see what they understand. I was just so surprised by this because I didn't think she would understand, but she did.

You must talk to him a lot. I talk to Daisy during the day, kind of like she is human. I was the same way with Bella. Daisy has always been pretty stubborn and usually the only way I can teach her anything is with food. I didn't teach her anything about the collar but with me talking to her every time I took it off, she knew it was her collar.

Daisy is one smart little pup I think dogs understand way more than we think they do. Yes, I have days when I want to do stuff but nothing sounds appealing. Since covid I think I'm more distracted and my concentration isn't what it used to be. Hulu is great for getting lost in a series. What are you watching?

I agree that dogs understand more than we think they do. I think it also helps that I talk to Daisy a lot during the day. Maybe that's what it is with me, I'm distracted and have a lack of concentration. I don't know but I don't like having days like that. I don't remember now what I was watching on Hulu. I haven't been back on since the day I wrote this post.

Daisy is such a smart little dog! How cute that she learned what her collar is. I've had a pretty busy Monday, but nothing too hectic, just taking care of a bunch of errands.

Running errands can take up a big part of a day. I hope you were able to enjoy some of the day. I wasn't even trying to teach Daisy to show me where her collar is. I guess that's why I am so surprised.

@moffittjc We had a schedule similar to that when I was working. You worked four 12-hour days and then would have Friday off. I tried it for a while. I agree it was great to be able to get things done on a Friday but I just couldn't hang with it for long. Especially during the winter months when you go in it's dark and when you leave it's dark.

@simone10 Years ago, when I worked four 10-hour days, I had Fridays off. I loved that schedule because then I could get all of my errands knocked out on Friday, which then freed up the whole weekend to do fun stuff.

Daisy is a smart dog to understand what you said. Our dog, Nayla, could understand words that we said. She used to love having a bubble bath, and we used to refer to it as a bubble tub. If you mentioned the word 'tub' you would see Nayla run upstairs to the bathroom and hop into the bathtub and wait for you to come and give her a bubble tub. It was hilarious.

Oh, how funny of Nayla! I would have loved to see that. Bella hated to have her nails clipped. If I mentioned lets clip your nails she would run and hide. I would always find her with her head under the bed and the rest of her body out. I guess she thought if her head was hidden, I couldn't see her
