After the hard disk of one of the two computers I have, crashed, I decided to buy an UPS for my second computer. It costed me approximately $35/-. The power failures here are very frequent and that is the main reason for crashing of my other hard disk. I want to protect my remaining computer at any cost as I require it for my day to day business transactions at the shop. All material requirement and other transactions with the franchiser are done online through a programme specially made for the purpose. I hope this UPS works in our power environment where failures are frequent.

Indeed, UPS are required in such conditions. We cannot do without computers now. In malls, Power backup systems can be there but not in the individual shops.

You are right. Power back up in form of generator or battery backup are costly.

@Nakitakona All UPS s are stabilisers which control the output voltage. They shut off the computer if the voltage is low or high.

@msdivkar AVR stands for automatic voltage regulator. In case there's a brownout and the power comes back, the power won't surge.
