Oh, That Bowl of Soap!

For as long as I could remember, I have loved scented soaps and have collected them on our travels around the world. My favorites have been the flowery ones from Hawaii. I stocked up extra hard on our second trip there.
However, I now use liquid soap, so that bowl of soap has remained in our powder room in a bowl on a very low shelf of a little table. That low shelf filled with a bowl of scented soaps, has long amused my two grandchildren. Their mom only allows them to use organic unscented soaps at their home, but they enjoy mine the most.
After every visit, I let them choose one soap each to bring home. Yesterday was no different.
I wish I could begin traveling again to refill that almost empty bowl.

Another thing we have in common. I am a soapaholic lol I was delighted to find out my granddaughter Amie shares my obsession and let her have her choice of all my many soaps. The last time she was here I sent her home with at least 10 lol

@BelleStarr They are money grubbers. Loose change won't do anymore.
I had that money in my wallet since before we went to Florida. We never use cash, so emptied my over stuffed wallet before it exploded. lol

I removed everything from a bathroom cabinet yesterday to deeply clean the inside and I found a box of soaps I bought during our travels around the world. Some flowery ones from the Island of Aruba were particularly nice. I did not even remember that I had so many... what to do with them?1 person likes this

@DianneN my wife always do that. In Seoul, the soap and shampoo of T-mark hotel are in 3 jars. She took home all of it and are still in our bathroom, waheehee.

@Alexandoy I took home the Floris of London soaps, oils, and lotions from the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong. They were so delicious that the next time we were in London, we went directly to the Floris of London shop. I was so disappointed when they told me they only made that sent for the hotel.

@LindaOHio My friend from SAKS called yesterday. I couldn't talk, so she is calling back today. I have a huge LIST of things I really need, but no clothes, shoes, or handbags. I have to wait until I can see them in person.

That is funny, I read that as bowl of soup.
PRetty soaps though. I agree. I love the look of some of the bars soaps, esp. the handmade kinds, but I just don't use it. I use liquid, too

So true. There's a place around here who makes scented soaps..... they're lovely, but I couldn't help from getting a couple bars. So, instead I store them with my dedicates drawer. Imparts a nice scent

Looks like your trip to Hawaii is due soon to get that bowl crammed with the flowery scented soaps again! I'm sure the kids' favourite would be the ones which are embedded with real flowers

@DianneN We love Wild Mountain Soap Company. It’s a West Virginia company. I enjoy giving it as Christmas and birthday gifts. Candles are another favorite of mine to give and receive.

I have discovered the world of homemade scented soaps recently when I had visited a farmer's market. The scents were so heavenly, I couldn't help but buy some. They sure do smell nice in the bathrooms!

Yes, they do. There are stores here that sell them, too. Organic and yummy. I have those as part of my bathing collections - matching soaps, scrubs, oils, lotions, room sprays,mists, and colognes. So delicious I can goggle myself up.
Unfortunately, they won't ship, and I don't leave the house to shop.

Oh @DianneN I wish I could smell those scented soaps! They sure smell so good, I really like that what you do when getting away. I would collect scented soaps too, if I traveled the world. I would keep them safe and when feeling like remembering my trips I would sit, watch and smell my collection of soaps!
