Today is my birthday

I woke up feeling ill this morning, headache, and very warm. My dad brought us Chicken for dinner.
I thought of my mother today, as it is my first birthday without her. We normally would have had pizza in the evening.
I am hoping to feel better tomorrow, I need to go get some groceries.
It was nice reading birthday messages on fb from people I have not heard from in a long time.
I didn't have a cake, because I am pre-diabetic and my dad is diabetic, so skipping cake again this year.
It was very hot here , so I didn't take my walk today. In case you are wondering, I turned 57. My daughter is coming shortly to visit with me, so that will be an end to a long day.

I can relate to not being able to eat a cake myself due to my pre-diabetic condition as well,

We rarely have sweet things in the house. Vince has Type 2 diabetes and I'm trying not to gain any more weight so best not to have the stuff in the house. I'm not sure I wished you a Happy Birthday. If I didn't, then I'll say it now. It would have been a bit tough without your Mum to share it with.

What a beautiful and delicious cake you have but it's only for a prop. Anyway don't worry for the Lord has given another year to prove Him how grateful you are and how you live according to His nurture and admonition.
