In the US many jobs require Black Americans to not have dreadlocks/braids. Do you think this is fair? In Jamaica the law has just been passed this week that no child will be turned away from school, based on their hairstyle. Thoughts? Experience?
Do similar things exist in other cultures? The way people wear hair?

It is as absud as any law that cuts hair in anyother specific way. I agree with you.

I guess it depends really... If you are working in a factory with a lot of machines you should need to have it adequately restrained otherwise it should go given it is a safety issue.
I heard somewhere banned dreadlocks cause "theyre a health hazard." Dreadlocks seem quite dirty but amazingly they can actually be cleaned without the dreadlocks coming apart which I am sure people would be shocked about. I know my kid wouldnt have smelly dreadlocks if they wanted dreadlocks
