Roy Orbison has sung many songs about dreams. Among them are “In Dreams,” “Dream Baby,” and “Dream.” Of them, my favorite is “Dream”. It is a beautiful song with wonderful lyrics. The song was included in the movie “You’ve Got Mail” with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.

"In Dreams" is my all-time favorite Orbison song. That amazing opening:
A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
"Go to sleep, everything is all right."
What an opening line.

Sometimes, he refers to our nightly dreams, and at other times to us having dreams for ourselves in our outer lives.
I think that both forms of dream are important.
