Day 365
Promise 444
Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And everyone who hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
No one wants others to consider them foolish. They want people to look up to them as wise. One who does everything with integrity. Yet, you know at least one foolish person.
Jesus told parables people could understand. They all built homes and knew it needed a good foundation. Without it, the house was useless.
As Christians, you know the house Jesus referred to is your body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. You also know the Rock is Jesus Christ.
When you build your lives on the Rock, you build on a firm foundation and nothing in this world can destroy your life.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abides which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17 If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
How did you build your house, your temple? Will it stand or will it fall? Are you a wise master builder? Is your house built on the Rock?
Let’s pray: Father, help me build my life on the Rock, Jesus Christ. Let it stand firm against the storms of life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
