Masks are Mandatory

Just went to a couple stores and wow is it humid out there.
I went to the grocery store for a few things and had to wear the mask. There were a lot of people in there so I guess it was good to wear the mask. I went to the smoke shop and they require a mask now too. The girl that is always working there said she thought it was state mandatory now but she was not sure.
I went to Burlington, the clothing store, and they had a big sign outside that masks were mandatory. They had a line to get in too, so I didn't stop. I just wanted to get a couple pairs of short but I don't need them that bad to stand in line to get them.
So I looked it up when I got home and yes Wisconsin, effective Aug 1st, made it mandatory for masks to be warn in all indoor public spaces. You can be sited for $200 fine if not wearing one. Well it is good that I keep one in the car. I wonder how many people will be getting the ticket for it.

I wear the mask because "why not?" Not because it is mandatory. I still think the Covid thing is entirely a left wing conspiracy to win an election. Covid is akin to a serious case of the flu and nothing more, and is no more deadly than an ingrown toenail.

I would think that masks are required everywhere these days. Though when I went to a restaurant recently for a friend's birthday I did not need a mask to go through the restaurant to the outdoor seating area. Indoor not allowed yet in NYC.
I hate wearing a mask though. Hard to breathe in it.

@Bensen32 By "everywhere" I meant all establishments. Is there really a law that says you must wear a mask?

@lovebuglena Well, I can only guess that there is a law now since they are saying there is a $200 fine if you don't. Maybe is it a state ordinance? I would guess it has to be written down some how if they are going to be fining people who don't follow this rule.

I have not left home without a mask to put on when I get to my destination since last January.
I feel relieved that they are mandatory, and after a few people get fined others will take notice and people will stop forgetting them or trying to buck the system.

@Bensen32 Even with our mandatory mask requirement in place for the last 3 months, our numbers have still spiked drastically, along with the rest of Florida.

honestly I'm not sure but per the Milwaukee Journal they said Aug 1st. Either way I know that it was required at all 3 places I tried to go to today. It also said for now they are looking at it be mandatory at least till sometime in Sept. But they didn't give an exact date.

They are manadatory here too, but still quite a few people in businesses are resisting which I find disturbing actually.

In my country the fine can be much higher. As I see it, the people spreading disease are the real terrorists.

I know most people don't want to hear it and think I am wrong but I think it is more about control than anything. Our numbers in this state have not really went up that much in the last month but now all of a sudden masks are mandatory. Why now, what is different about now than say 2-3 months ago?

@Bensen32 Here, since mArch, we have been wearing it. but to.tell you frankly, it.does not.do.anything..we.still have so many cases. we just wear.it.for the sake of not getting fined.
But i heard reports that even those who just stay at home can still get it.

I think many irresponsible people will get the ticket, cause it is crazy how many people out there don't wear the facemask! In fact a face shield should also be mandatory too!

@Bensen32 I wonder, don't you think wearing a face shield would be more protection?

@jvicentevalera well if it is saliva based them I guess so, that way no one can spit on you. but if it is air borne then it's just going to go around the shield anyway.
