Masks are Mandatory

Just went to a couple stores and wow is it humid out there. I went to the grocery store for a few things and had to wear the mask. There were a lot of people in there so I guess it was good to wear the mask. I went to the smoke shop and they require a mask now too. The girl that is always working there said she thought it was state mandatory now but she was not sure. I went to Burlington, the clothing store, and they had a big sign outside that masks were mandatory. They had a line to get in too, so I didn't stop. I just wanted to get a couple pairs of short but I don't need them that bad to stand in line to get them. So I looked it up when I got home and yes Wisconsin, effective Aug 1st, made it mandatory for masks to be warn in all indoor public spaces. You can be sited for $200 fine if not wearing one. Well it is good that I keep one in the car. I wonder how many people will be getting the ticket for it.

I wear the mask because "why not?" Not because it is mandatory. I still think the Covid thing is entirely a left wing conspiracy to win an election. Covid is akin to a serious case of the flu and nothing more, and is no more deadly than an ingrown toenail.

I kind of agree, I don't think it is as bad as the left is trying to make it seem. Of course I have no hard evidence to back this up just my opinion. Of course if people want to walk around in a hazmat suit that is up to them.

@porwest True, but so many can not see this or don't want to see it I guess.

@Bensen32 You do not need hard evidence. Just look at the numbers. This is nothing.

I would think that masks are required everywhere these days. Though when I went to a restaurant recently for a friend's birthday I did not need a mask to go through the restaurant to the outdoor seating area. Indoor not allowed yet in NYC. I hate wearing a mask though. Hard to breathe in it.

@Bensen32 By "everywhere" I meant all establishments. Is there really a law that says you must wear a mask?

@lovebuglena Well, I can only guess that there is a law now since they are saying there is a $200 fine if you don't. Maybe is it a state ordinance? I would guess it has to be written down some how if they are going to be fining people who don't follow this rule.

They are not required everywhere. I think only 32 of the 50 states it is mandatory. Well, that is the last number I seen from yesterdays news.

I have not left home without a mask to put on when I get to my destination since last January. I feel relieved that they are mandatory, and after a few people get fined others will take notice and people will stop forgetting them or trying to buck the system.

@Bensen32 I have auto immune disease, so I am thankful that everyone is wearing masks now, and gloves, I used to be the only person wearing gloves to pump gas, now people wear them at the grocery store, pumping gas and many other places.

@Juliaacv Oh really. I have not seen but a few people wearing gloves since all this started. I do have hand sanitizer in the car and use it now and then.

I have not been wearing a mask but just keeping my distance. If a place requested mask I wear them and now I guess I will have to at all places.

@Bensen32 Even with our mandatory mask requirement in place for the last 3 months, our numbers have still spiked drastically, along with the rest of Florida.

Yeah, I know some places it has been for a while but here all of a sudden they are and oddly enough our numbers have not taken a jump recently so I wonder why now.

honestly I'm not sure but per the Milwaukee Journal they said Aug 1st. Either way I know that it was required at all 3 places I tried to go to today. It also said for now they are looking at it be mandatory at least till sometime in Sept. But they didn't give an exact date.

@Bensen32 We are supposed to wear masks here, but, not everyone does that. I wish we did have stores that said a person cannot come in if no mask, but, cannot do that because not all clerks wear masks.

They are manadatory here too, but still quite a few people in businesses are resisting which I find disturbing actually.

In my country the fine can be much higher. As I see it, the people spreading disease are the real terrorists.

I think there are some states here that have higher fines, I remember reading some where that some state is fining people $1,000.00. It just depends on the state.

I know most people don't want to hear it and think I am wrong but I think it is more about control than anything. Our numbers in this state have not really went up that much in the last month but now all of a sudden masks are mandatory. Why now, what is different about now than say 2-3 months ago?

@Bensen32 Here, since mArch, we have been wearing it. but to.tell you frankly, it.does not.do.anything..we.still have so many cases. we just wear.it.for the sake of not getting fined. But i heard reports that even those who just stay at home can still get it.

I think many irresponsible people will get the ticket, cause it is crazy how many people out there don't wear the facemask! In fact a face shield should also be mandatory too!

I hope they don't do the shield. I don't care for the mask either but will wear it since it is mandatory.

@jvicentevalera well if it is saliva based them I guess so, that way no one can spit on you. but if it is air borne then it's just going to go around the shield anyway.
