Didn't buy a single thing

Summer sales will end this month, for the first time I didn't buy a single thing for me I haven't visited stores and I also haven't ordered a single piece of clothes or shoes, sandals or sneakers online I haven't had the need so far to buy new things which is weird for me as I always love to get bargains in sales. I have enough summer clothes I guess, besides that I think we should be more careful with our money and spend it wisely. Have you bought new clothes this season?

Sure did! Walmart had thick to shirt for 1.50, got last 2 black ones, 2 dollar one got one. Then tank tops Hanes, 5.99 so got 4 of them My t- shirts & tank tops were so worn, so I began window shopping for them. These I just couldn't pass up! Got a Mr. Coffee for only 16.99 with a gift card. Yippee!

It is good that you have a good control of your shopping. When there is a sale in stores people flock to it.

I usually find good bargains near the end of the sales but this year I don't want to be in crowded stores.

Because of the virus, I have cut my spending drastically, and haven't been doing any shopping except for groceries.

@nela13 Fortunately my daughter is 20 and she buys her own clothes and shoes, and my son is 17, but I think he's done with his growth spurt for now, so I haven't had to buy him any news clothes so far this year. He doesn't need new school clothes this year either, as all his classes are online, so that will save me some money.

I bought a few things for my children as they have grown and their clothes no longer fit them but apart from that only buy grocery items too.

I bought a load of new clothes and shoes while in Florida and brought them all home with me. I barely wore any of them.

@nela13 You're right! I feel the same way. However, this year I will need some new winter clothes, since we won't be going to Florida. I will have to call my friend at SAKS and have her help me pick out some things. I will look online first to see what's new. I won't need much, because I don't go anywhere. lol

Yes, during the lockdown I didn't wear my clothes and now I don't visit stores to buy summer clothes. I think I have enough summer clothes, I don't even wear all the clothes I have and soon the summer is over.

I think many people will be a bit more cautious about how they spend their money now. Saving isn't always a big priority for some people.

@nela13 Many young people in Australia have had a very good life. Some earn incredible wages but have spent it on big houses, flash cars, etc and suddenly the rug has been pulled from under them. And it's too late to save now. If we get back to normal, they may look at things a bit differently.

@JudyEv It is exactly the same here. I have two children and I have been careful explaining them the importance of saving, I don't want them to grow up and be irresponsible with their money.

Saving is a big priority for me, it helps me to have a stable life and don't worry too much when we have an unexpected expense and right now with this virus and all the economical issues our country is facing I prefer to save a little more.

I agree with you that we have to be wise with our money these days, I could see a recession or another great depression just on the horizon, our country is officially already in recession just a few days ago. I have enough clothes but I would buy only if I really need a particular item.

@nela13 We stayed at home almost all the time, I wore my house dresses because they are pure cotton and light. If the next year the situation is different (I hope so) I will buy something IF I need.

That's good you didn't need to participate in the sales. Yes, I bought a few new things. A pair of water shoes, a pair of sandals - the most comfortable pair I ever owned, two shirts, and a couple more pairs of shorts. I will probably buy more pants come fall as the ones I have are getting too big and that's a good thing.
