A thing about the clock(s)

Clock. Time. We cannot live without. We see them through our mobile. Alarm Clock. Watch. Desk clock. But on a computer system, we have something additional. As in the image, I am fond of keeping and watching multiple times in different time zones. I cannot explain the excitement or interest regarding this. Do you also keep more than one time clock on your system? Image : clicked on my computer

I agree that time is important. No, I only keep up with the time where I live.

Apart from having interest in India time as there depends our day to day business, I was also interested in time zone of Australia which is more complicated than that of ours. While we keep only one time zone for the entire India, Australia I think has got so many time zones. I was interested in Australian time zone as we had to watch cricket matches early in the morning.

@msdivkar Well that reminds me of 1992 world Cup matches. For NZ hosted matches - 3.30 India time was the starting time and was too early. Perth in Australia was 5.30 for day matches and around 7.30 to 8 for D/N matches. For Melbourne/Sydney : 7 Am for day and nearly 9 Am for D/N. And at times, watching those matches early on, on bouncy wickets was a delight!!

@msdivkar Yes the quality of broadcast was much higher and the commentary of the legendary commentator Richie Benaud was also superb.

Yes I do, it is a habit I have from the time I worked and I needed to know if it was an appropriate time to call people around the world.

I don't do this but it sounds a great, and fun, idea.

@JudyEv I sometimes used to do it for official purposes in the past as we had colleagues in US, UK, India and may be Singapore or Hong Kong. So well some practices that interest persist and we carry them forward.

@amitkokiladitya yeah sometimes time is like that. But I was referring to multiple times - Time Zones on a single computer.

Well I think there are clock apps if you want to display them in your computer and set them differently based on other country's timeline .

@Nakitakona On my laptop, I just change the Date and Time setup. We can even change our own computer's time and time zone. We at times need it for executing certain Software programs.

This reminds me of the sad fate of the wristwatch. It has become obsolete.

No, I don't bother doing that unless a family member is traveling somewhere in the world. It's not happening now with the virus.
