Another toe has been amputated. :(

I am going to go to sleep after I post this. I am very happy with myself that I have gone through all of my discussions and besides the newer notifications, I am completely up to date with everything.
My dad has had two surgeries. In the first one, the surgeon/s had to get a vein from somewhere in my dad's body and put it into his leg to help the blood flow as the blood flow was not so good before and hopefully it is now fine! I don't know yet. Second surgery, well I don't know the whole process but I do know another toe has been amputated. I spoke to my dad for almost an hour tonight and he told me what he knows so far about his surgeries as well as all the other complications / mishaps that's been happening. I MIGHT explain it later but for now, I will just say that.
The doctors / surgeons are waiting for some test results to come back to see what infection is inside my dad's foot so they can put him on antibiotics. If that doesn't work....we fear about his foot. But for now, I don't want to get into that.
Due to my dad having yet another long stay in hospital, I asked my brother if we could split the money to buy my dad one of those portable DVD players so he has his own DVD's to watch and pass the time / keep his mind off things.
My brother (see he can be kind, just friggen lazy and selfish majority of the time) did go out to buy it and I gave him my half of the money when he came back but I also packed a bag full of some DVD's that my dad would enjoy and my brother took it to him. I packed some Abbott & Costello movies, some of the On The Buses series, The Office (UK), and others which I forget now but mainly comedies. My dad was so happy and grateful for us to do this. And I'm glad.
I took it quite easy today. Just caught up on MyLot. I was too tired to do anything else. And now I am just going to try sleep and hopefully get more stuff done around the house tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive, it means a lot to me. Hope you're all well. Goodnight from me for now.

@VivaLaDani13 Take that as a chance to show him how important he is to you and that may help in making him feel better.

I hope your Dad is fine now. Does he need special shoes? I hope he can walk without pain.

@LadyDuck He is doing alright for now thank you. His foot isn't hurting but his leg hurts a lot. Especially when he first sits up / gets up after he has woken. Due to having the bypass in his leg, there are really deep cuts that are still healing so yeah unfortunately that is still causing him a lot of pain and will do for quite some time.
He will need special shoes and annoying enough he literally got some made up before he went to hospital but now due to losing another toe, he will need to get new ones made up to fit the way his foot is now.

I am very sorry to learn the news that your dad has had his second toe amputated. If I may ask you what might be the cause of all these?

@Treborika Thank you for that. Long story short, it was all because of his diabetes.

I so sorry to hear that your father is going through this. I'll say a healing prayer for him. Watching our parents go through things is difficult.
The dvd player is a great idea! I wish my mother could operate one herself. They do enjoy watching older movies and can relate to them more.

@ElusiveButterfly Thank you kindly and yes it really is difficult.
That would be quite a treat if your mother could do that as I'm sure she would enjoy it a lot.

I'm sorry your dad lost another toe. I hope they find the problem so he can get the antibiotics and not lose his foot.
I'm glad your brother was helpful and got the DVD player for your dad and he has his favorite comedy series to help the healing process.

@just4him Thank you very much. So far everything is ok. Hoping so much that it will continue to be ok. It's a hard thing to relax with because a little mishap could happen at any time and turn into something serious.
Thank you Valerie.

That was very thoughtful and nice that you did for your Dad. However, it was in an unfortunate circumstance. Diabetes can be a b*tch.

You are so thoughtful Dani, and it was such a beautiful thing you and your brother did for your dad. I'm sure he appreciates it greatly, and watching all those humorous DVDs will provide a good distraction for him in the hospital. And besides, they do say laughter is the best medicine, so if he can enjoy those DVDs and get a good laugh out of some of them, it will help build his immune system.

@JudyEv You're right, my dad did say that it felt like a very long time for him while being in hospital.
I am sort of improving. It's hard to say. Overall I think yes but it's a weird one. I can be fine all day and night but when I wake the next morning my nose could be running a lot. And I still have little coughing fits. So getting there slowly I think. Thank you kindly for asking.
