Stray Wild Boars

When I was still working in one of the local government agencies in my city, I was assigned to an isolated province in Kalinga. It was my first time to work with the tribes and new things made me amazed at first travel there. Along the road, you can see stray wild boars. They were walking without any constraints. The simple life with the tribes was the best experience that I had at that time. Have you tasted wild boar meat? Do you agree that their meat is tastier than the domestic pigs? Image Credit: Shavkat

Have you tasted wild boar meat? No, I haven't but given the chance I will. Do you agree that their meat is tastier than the domestic pigs? No opinion about this.

I tasted their meat a couple of times when visiting the tribes there. I must say that it is tastier than the pork meat sold in the public market. When they cook it, it is so simple. They just butchered and boiled with water. Then, sprinkled it with salt. That's it!

@allen0187 I tasted the boar meat, it is popular here because we have many. The taste is very similar to pig meat, more tastier and less fat.

I have never eaten boar meat, in fact I am not eager to either lol! I would like to spend a day in a tribe to experience what it feels like living like them! It must be something very uplifting!

When I was with the tribes, I do not want to eat it at first. It will shame for me not to live like them at that time. So I tasted it.

It is not a good place to explore without a companion of one of the strongest tribes. They always have tribal wars. The place is known as 'head hunters' in the past. Regardless, it is a nice place because nature was untouched with civilization yet.

I agree. Even I am living on the mountain, I haven't seen one here. It can only be seen in some isolated mountains far from my city.

I hope you will have the chance to taste it. Some local tribes put the meat under the sun for quite some time, it is called 'etag.' It is like preserving pork meat.

It is my first time to eat this meat with the tribes. They have a tradition or culture that when there is a visitor came to their place. They need to butcher a wild boar. It is a gesture to welcome visitors.

I have never had wild boar meat. There are some in area about 45 minutes from here. I imagine there is a limited hunting season on them. They can be dangerous.

When I was in this place, they are tamed by the tribes. The wild ones are in the middle of the mountain. The tribes love to hunt them during the summer season.

Do people hunt those? I have never seen a boar OR eaten a boar. Here in Minnesota, US - we have many deer in the woods - and you can hunt those with the right permits during hunting season.

These wild boors are being tamed by the local tribes. The real wild ones are being hunted in the middle of the mountains. In this place, they do not need to have a permit to do it.

Those looks like wild pigs, not boars, boars are a lot bigger and with dangerous fangs.

I have been living in the city since birth, it was my first time to see them. There are some wild boars in the mountains and hunt them. They are tastier than the wild boars taken care of the tribes.

I agree. They were so calm and peaceful with the tribes. There are wild boars in the mountain and they need to hunt them. However, these are more agitated when being acquired.
