Thankful for during this pandemic

Hi Friends, My friend @Hannihar recently posted that she was thankful to not be caught on an elevator with people during this pandemic. Yes indeed. And it's funny because now when I'm having a tough day, I just think of that. "Well at least I'm not in a stuck elevator full of people during pandemic". And somehow that makes me smile and the day goes a little better. So I've tried to think of a few more statements like that. Well - at least I'm not craving Chipotle during this pandemic. I remember a few years ago I used to get these cravings for Chipotle. I ate there a couple times a week. (Chipotle, incase you aren't familiar with it - is a fast casual Mexican restaurant chain) It got so bad that I tried to replicate it at home, and, of course I couldn't, which only made me want it more. You can get Chipotle for take out - but it's not the same as eating it fresh. Well - at least I don't have to be out with the public during pandemic. I'm very blessed. At least my hobbies and crafting and organizing are getting done and I have plenty to keep me busy. At least I don't have children (I'm sorry if that came out wrong. I have never personally wanted them. I don't dislike them, I just don't want any of my own. ) I'm not trying to disrespect any parents out there, in fact by far the opposite, major hats off to parents - I just meant that it is one thing to deal with your own feelings during this pandemic and I imagine it would be a lot harder to deal with your own feelings plus those of a youngster who may not fully understand what all is going on. I mean *I* don't fully understand what's going on and I'm an adult. At least my mom lives within grocery delivery distance and I have use of curbside grocery pickup. There are probably countless other things , but those are a few I thought of quickly. Can you add any that count for your particular situation in all this? I'm thankful for all of my family and friends remaining safe so far during this pandemic. I'm also thankful tor not having to go out for a thing. The best part of the pandemic was seeing our bank accounts grow so much. I had no idea how much money we blew on fine dining and high end designer products. Don't get me wrong. We still had money left over every month to save, invest, and give to charities, but never considered how much we pissed away on nonsense.

All good things to be thankful for. I know, as I've been cleaning out clutter - I think more carefully when purchasing. So many things were exciting when I first purchased them, but after the initial buzz .... sometimes they just ended up taking up space

Those are very interesting ones....and that's good to know about Chipotle! I could say that at least I started working out again during the pandemic!

True - there are some positive sides to this pandemic. The biggest, yes, is having to have "time" to catch up on things . . . less running around and missing out on the little things in life. I can list tons, but because today is the first official day of online schooling . . . I am grateful that my kids are safe at home . . . they can still learn with friends/school through the computer, but now we have time to each the kids stuff they don't teach in schools (home ec on a grand scale!). You take care too!!

@FayeHazel This is the safest option for sure . . . but surrounding counties might reopen their schools for in-class learning soon . I don't know how that's going to end up - considering many schools/colleges have closed due to outbreaks. Eek! Omg. I hope your friend's kids stay safe . I have an adult friend who has CF - she can tell you how scared she feels about even stepping out in a "normal" world - this covid stuff is no joke for sure. I can understand that the school stuff is not easy at home . . . but health has got to be #1 priority - no compromising there - and especially if the kids already have a condition!!!

Congrats on choosing the online schooling. I think it's the safest choice and like you say they will learn things that aren't taught in a normal class room. I'm amazed at the lack of people signing up for online school in all this. I understand not everyone can due to jobs etc, but - am shocked at this acquaintance of mine. 3 kids in school. 3 kids have cystic fibrosis. (2 aren't in school and 1 is in school) and she doesn't think she can handle them at home, so off to in person class they will go. A huge risk for the CF kids but.... that was her choice I guess and I wasnt asked an opinion lol

@Spontaneo That is a real talent to make a nice gift basket or jar. :-) I have done a fabric wreath in the past, it was nice. I'm curious about your loom work

@FayeHazel Kind-of... gift baskets, gift jars, scrap fabric and sandwich bag wreaths and stitching with a loom.

Okay, let's get back to the original premise--why would you (or Hannihar) even get into an elevator with more than one person or stay in an elevator if a third one got on????

I wouldn't get on, but not sure I would leave if someone else got on. Actually, about the only place I have been on elevator is my apartment building here :-D

There's a lot to be thankful for! I am making daily precious memories with my daughter and get to enjoy the beach view twice a day everyday.
