Good Morning!

Good morning everyone. I actually got up at daybreak today and started my day. I couldn't go back to sleep so gave in and put the coffee on. I fixed a typical southern breakfast of grits, eggs and bacon and it has now been wiped out. I'll have to get in the kitchen and get it all cleaned up since we will have a big lunch. A big lunch is due because hubby is working tonight and if he goes in full he will grab something light around 9 pm before everything closes in the little small town. I'm excited (and he is too) with this being his last night to work! A new Marshall (police chief) will be taking over so he is turning in his badge. HIs friend lost the election by only 19 votes! The sad part is that this man was caught years ago with an underage young lady doing inappropriate things. Time must erase memories. Sad to have this guy responsible for safety in the town, but it is what it is! What's on your agenda for today? © 2020 Karen Gros, All Rights Reserved

I'm glad I did get up early. I wasn't aware that we had rain in the forecast! I will loose some time outside today for sure.

@CarolDM Except for the way we got it last time; every day for over a week! It took over a week for the ground to dry out here.

I woke up at 1am to use the bathroom, couldn't fall back asleep, and lay in bed until 4am. Then I decided to just get up and start my day. A big pot of coffee certainly helped, but I still needed a nap at about noon. Now I'm back up and trying to function, although my sleep cycle is way off. My breakfast (made at lunch time) happened to be a homemade banana blueberry smoothie.

@moffittjc We switched to 50/50 here and I don't feel like I get my "boost." Going to stick with it though because we both needed to cut some of the caffeine. Cut the soft drinks all the way out except for "special occasions" like eating out. Since that isn't happening right now, we are on a roll.

So are you saying your husband is retiring for good? Will he need to look for something else? Hope his last night is uneventful.

He is retired from his regular job. This was a part time deal helping out when the regular staff is out. It was only 4-6 nights a month so not too bad. And yes, now he is home all the time! Gotta get all those projects lined up for him now! Haha! He is on his way home now @ 12:30

@kareng We got so much done around the place once Vince retired. He did a couple of fill-in stints but never missed the workplace. Have a wonderful time together.

@JudyEv He will miss a couple of the guys he worked with at part time but not the work. I certainly won't miss the worry! I just have to make sure he gets his medical problems taken care of also.

I am off to the bakery to buy fresh bread for the weekend and then wash the floor, give a harmonica lesson on-line. Then go shopping for food for the weekend. We are officially on lockdown so supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries are the only businesses open.

Can't beat a true southern breakfast. I hate when you are traveling and you get white gravy or grits that are not done.
