So much for the 40-year-old songs. Tomorrow I start counting down my favorite songs from 1980. Some of those won’t be as big a hit as some of these (not that all of these have been chart-toppers). Here’s yet another song that you probably know and may not realize it’s 40 years old. Whip It - Devo Or as the dogs sing, Whippet good! Devo’s biggest hit and their best-known song. It’s been spoofed (the aforementioned meme with a whippet wearing a Devo flower pot on his head), it’s been used everywhere, and it’s frequently quoted.
