The past week, we learned that my husband's nephew (first cousin's son) is having problems within their family. You see my husband's cousin (the father) do not work and sells food/meals in front of their house. But he is also a gambler, alcoholic drinker and not confirmed/hearsay addict (of course no one will admit it). The mother is the breadwinner. Quarreling is an everyday occurrence.
This affects the nephew, a 16 year old boy. He sometimes becomes violent to his parents or sometimes violently slams his head or fist to their walls. His mother asked for help to my sister-in-law (she is like the Big Sister of all cousins.
Today my SIL asked me to come with her to visit the nephew. We also arranges his room so he will have his own privacy a bit away from his parents rooms so he will be less distracted and frustrated.
We talk to him after and we are hoping somehow he will be enlighten for now.5 people like this

@rakski the wife should find a way to keep the money she earned for herself and their son.

That's a very sensitive stage of his life. I hope he can cope with it soon.

@rakski That's true. But usually, you can't even tell adults to straighten up. Sad but true.

i think the boy should be given space from his father because he might be having the violent father-figure introjection when he sees his parents are quarreling.

that is true but now they cannot afford to be out of the house. That was the first plan though. So the grandmother who has a room at the back gave up her room to be his so he will have his own private space a bit away from his parents. And we talked to him yesterday. Hopefully he will be able to handle their situation better
