I see their smiles!

I've seen a number of teachers complaining that they wish they could see their students' smiles. But they can't, because most schools require masks.
I have been amazed that 1. I am having no problem identifying kids in masks (and even in masks and face shields) and 2. I can tell what their expression is even when they are wearing masks. It really should be no problem, because we all "smile with our eyes" even when you can't see our mouth.
Can you tell whether people are looking happy or sad even behind their mask?

This reminds me that I have had issues identifying some people on the road. I believe this will come to pass sooner than we think

I agree. The eyes are enough to see if someone is smiling.
