I am having one of those moments where I should have just kept playing the Sims yesterday and not wasted time. So I have this friend and he came to me with an idea to do something for his music. Okay, I appreciate that he has confidence in my work, but even more so, what does he want me to do? It started with visualettes which is basically just a picture with some fancy things happening when the song plays on youtube or whatever. They are neat. He came to me with NO idea what to do and had me come up with a story. And so I did, I am very good at coming up with stories out of nowhere. I just listened to the music with no lyrics and no story and I made one. So everything was going along well, I was telling him ideas and willing to change ideas. Because it is his music, it should be under what he sees. So I changed some things of the story, I'm okay with that. And then he started suggesting things to the story that just doesn't make sense. Like, it would not have fit into the story. I kept telling him, I can change the story, but tell me HOW this is going to fit? And he is a person that is very bad at explaining the How. He can say the What but not How and that is not a good thing when you are expecting a person to do your vision. And he kept telling me all these different things that just did not fit the story I created and he was not telling me how to change it. It was just so frustrating. Like, if I was getting paid for this kind of thing, then I probably would have stuck around. But he was expecting so much work from me, to create a story, to draw everything out and animate it and all this stuff for no pay, and just giving me jumbled up thoughts. I have worked with a lot of people when it comes to scriptwriting, butting heads is common, but we normally get to the same wavelength eventually. But this...It was so irritating. This is why I rather work alone. Because this was just such a waste of time. Are you good at working in groups or are you a person that would rather just do all the work yourself?
