Defunding local governments and States?

I've read from The Epoch Times that President Trump has "signed a memorandum late Wednesday ordering a review of federal funds to certain state and local governments that “are permitting anarchy, violence, and destruction in American cities.”? It is just so right that the tax-payers' money should go to the business owners and private property owners these violent protesters have destroyed and burned down. Yeah, I've been wondering about these devastated cities the rioters, looters, violent protesters have done to these cities in America. Photo above: Is this little store standing and intact? The protests have turned to violence and the ones doing the destruction in American cities should be arrested.

I hope that people who have been gravely affected will get back to business and will be helped tremendously. Yes, they are criminals. Lawless groups of people.

"Reviewing" the funding, of course, means only one thing. Trunp thinks that the government is paying too much to those cities which aren't doing enough to police the violence in their jurisdiction and are therefore (in his tiny mind) are tacitly promoting anarchism. Of course, what he really needs to do is to give more money to those cities - specifically to train their police better and to be able to hire more police. Cutting the funding can only mean that their police forces will reduce in size and they will be less able (and.or willing) to control the violence. America seems to be in a very parlous state right now. The violence is merely a symptom of the way that a lot of people - not just the protesters - see the way that the government is going.

Mouthing with defiant de Blacio, Wheeler, Cuomo, Bowser on Trump's,'malicious infantile' order. Trump's making the art of the deal. You-don't-deliver-you-don't-get-money. These Democrats running their cities "anarchist jurisdictions" are given simple choices: "1. Protect your citizens and their livelihoods. Support injured and murdered police officers the rioters killed. Build up abandoned Seattle Police Department. Restore order--- and I will increase federal funding to the law enforcement. I know how to move money around with Homeland Security and Justice Department. 2. or allow these anarchists, rioters and mob rule your cities. Still, I will strengthen law and order even more-- NOT for you, Dems, but for the innocent citizens. Probably, outside military security forces to help the already defunded police in NY and dem-run cities. Pretty much The Epoch Times reported accurately. We'll see how President Trump's ''Order to Review Anarchist Cities'' funding pans out.

@everwonderwhy Peaceable demonstrations and protests are allowed by law - I believe that that is in your Constitution - even though Yrump has ordered the dispersion of peaceable protesters by an unidentified force in the past. The various protests against unwarranted police violence and other things which may have started out peaceably but the violence and looting has quite often been instigated and stirred up by people from outside the area where the actual protests were taking place (as evidenced by some of the people who have been arrested). The people who do this are the ones with the political agenda, not so much the original protesters. There will always be a certain local hooligan element who are only too willing to join in the violence and looting, once it starts. They usually couldn't care less about the original meaning of the protest OR about why they are burning cars and looting premises: they do it because it's dangerous and 'fun' and, perhaps, because it's something like what they see in the movies and in video games. I suspect that the REAL instigators of the violence - the real anarchists, in other words - are very clued in as to the weak areas where protests take place and are very mobile. They take care to disappear as quickly as they can once they have started the ball rolling, so that they don't get caught too often.

@owlwings By the way, how are these Four Cities' local governments going, making these anarchists behave the way they do?

I knew something was in the wind, but I haven't heard about it. Mostly because I don't listen to the news.

@everwonderwhy It's crazy what happened there.

Be careful out there in Wisconsin. Riots allowed there in Kenosha have left the city of Wisconsin the way it is now.

Yes. And the people who search out the matter or facts about the obvious. The law-abiding, tax-paying citizens also discerningly understand how disgusting these acts of anarchy these rioters and operatives have gone so low to total mayhem.

I like the idea, stop the funding till some of these places start doing something to stop these riots. Anything they do would be better than just letting them happen and saying nothing about it.

@Bensen32 It's the Democrats' call. The Trump cards are on the table: -- restore order --- or let the mob rule

Please don't mention that maniac's name. Most protests are tame and what they should be. Only the hooligans, thieves, nut jobs, and rioters cause the destruction. They need to be arrested and charged with felonies, burglaries, etc.

Trump, to my mind, is doing what he is SUPPOSED to be doing, and that is leaving the onus on the local elected officials to police their cities, follow federal mandates and laws, and FIX THEIR OWN PROBLEMS. More often than not what happens is these democrat leaders do nothing, and them blame the federal government for their woes. It's not a federal problem and what Trump is saying is we want to review any money you get and see what you are doing with it. If you are not putting the money toward solving problems and fixing problems...you won't get any more of it.

Many business owners and workers are going to start all over again to build up their lives. Facts of life we do not allow tyranny take away freedoms.
