Hubby used my deodorant

Yesterday, hubby realized he ran out of deodorant so he used mine before going to work and without asking me if he can use it. When he got home last night, which was technically already today, I told him I hope he bought himself deodorant because mine is off limits. Deodorant, toothbrush, and hairbrush are three things I do not share with anyone. He did not answer if he bought it or not but I had a feeling he didn't. And that's exactly what happened. This morning, I checked the medicine cabinet and the place where he keeps his deodorant is empty. I also checked my deodorant and I can see that he used it again. Even after I specifically said he is not allowed to use it. I guess it was more important to go straight to his cousin's house after work for the poker game yesterday than go to the store and get some deodorant for himself. Good thing that I have another deodorant so will be using that one. The one he used is going in the trash.

I have borrowed my husband's deodorant and he, mine. I've used his hairbrush in a piece, and he, mine. He offered me his toothbrush on a trip to Turkey when I realized I forgot to pack mine, and I used it until I could buy a toothbrush. Not a big deal.

@DianneN Plus, the way he used it seems like he used too much and he got it all over the outside of the tube or whatever that thing is called.

To each his own I guess. But you ask if you can use it before you do. And if I told him he can't use it he shouldn't have used it again.

If you are out of something that you really need you find the time to get it right away. Buying deodorant should have been at the top of his list after work and not going to play poker.

I personally wouldn't mind just as long as we got his quickly. But I totally get where you're coming from. I'm like that with eyeliner, mascara and combs.

@lovebuglena You're right - it really is a personal thing and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Yes, lip gloss/lips is another one for me. Because I'm very precious about my stuff, I'm very understanding of other people's preferences. My husband is very much like you too.

@Lushlala My husband sometimes would let someone use his vape. I was against that. You shouldn't put it in your mouth when someone else used it.

Everyone's got their thing. For me sharing a deodorant is a no-no but many seem to be ok with it. If I wore makeup I would not share a lip gloss or lipstick.

I have no problems if my husband wants to use my deodorant, after all he always takes a shower before using a deodorant, we share the same soap bar in the shower too. What I do not let him use is my toothbrush and I do not use his toothbrush.

@lovebuglena We have two separate bathroom sinks, at least we cannot use the wrong toothbrush by mistake, this is a big no for me.

We each have our own body wash. We don't use bar soap. If he ran out of his and used mine I'd be okay with it so long as he didn't take too much of it. Not sure if I'd use his body wash because his is specifically for a man. But using my deodorant is a no-no. It's like using my toothbrush which he used once or twice but it was by accident. We use the same exact toothbrush just our colors are different so sometimes you can grab the wrong one by accident, especially if the colors are similar.

My girlfriend and I share our deodorant back and forth when necessary (like when one of us runs out). It doesn't bother me if she uses mine, and it doesn't bother her if I use hers. I've also used my girlfriend's toothbrush before when I forgot mine on a trip.

@lovebuglena The only person I would ever share my toothbrush with is my girlfriend. I don't think it's a big deal. I have no problem kissing her, so I should have no problem using her toothbrush.

Using someone else's toothbrush is a no-no, even if you have a twin sibling. Hubby clearly has no reservations against using my deodorant. I'd never use his. He also doesn't seem to have any reservations about letting someone use his Juul and then use it himself after.

I would share those things with my husband if necessary; but that's just me.

@LindaOHio He is the one that needs it and he is an adult. I shouldn't have to buy it for him. He should find the time to do it. It's not like he has no time.

He still hasn't bought his own and keeps using mine. Wonder if he ever has the intention to buy it. I confronted him about it yesterday and he just smiled. He also asked how I knew that he used it and I told him. The cap is on backwards and the tube has deodorant all over it. Apparently, he didn't know you can put the cap on backwards. You can. The label on the cap should not be in the back.

That is just wrong to actually use someone else's deodorant. Its like wearing their underwear.

Or using their toothbrush. Doesn't matter if it's your spouse or your parent or your kid. That's nasty! And wrong!

I wouldn't mind if Chris uses mine. Of course mine is a spray. My mother has used mine before. I have used hers before.

Mine is not a spray. He finally got himself one last Sunday when we went to Target. Not sure if still uses mine or not. He seemed to like it. At least I had another one that wasn't opened yet so I am using that one. I am thinking of throwing the one he used in the trash. It expires 9/2020 anyway.

Maybe there is nothing wrong with sharing it with hubby but I am not comfortable with that.
