I like Fire. I could quite easily be an arsonist or even just the first 3 letters. It's easy. Fire is great. And on a boring Saturday Night with the Rolling Stones on in the background even better. But now, just my luck the rain is threatening to come on. And my fiire needs refuelled. Best go and get more wood for it. Burn baby burn This Wheels on Fire Anyway, do you like fire as much as I do. Guest on way, should be fun,

We love a good fire! My husband built a fire pit similar to yours and a one room shack in the back yard (our kids call it the love shack, lol) We often sit in that and watch the fire. Someone said that a fire pit that a couple can enjoy together is the cheapest marriage counselling around. And I believe it.

@JimBo452020 It's so peaceful, no internet, no TV, just us and the deer, owls, frogs, crickets, bears, sometimes Egrets, and the occasional coyote in the woods. Oh, I forgot the fireflies or lightning bugs as we call them.

@1creekgirl Sounds very lovely, I haven't seen a frog in years. Pollution has thinned them out a bit

It's a real shame you can't have one. Everyone should be able to have a fire if protectors and looters can

I like fire if it is safely contained and controlled. But from your picture it is not. Around here that would be illegal. I like older houses that have lots of wood fireplaces and fire pits in the back yard. I remember when I was a child my grandfather would safely take the leaves he raked up from our big yard and burn them in old paint can's. I loved the smell! After they cooled he would dispose of the ashes properly, But the outlawed that after awhile because too many people were not doing it safely.

My fire was perfectly well controlled in a fire pit. Perfectly legal here, and people all over our town have garden parties with fires like this And the fire service doesn't get called out because it's safe. Glad I don't live where you do. We have a proper fireplace in the house, most houses in our town do, old run down town with lots of Victorian town houses like ours. We are allowed to burn garden waste on our properties as well, and open, not enclosed in a fire pit like my fire.

@JimBo452020 Oh wow! Your town is very easy with their fire rules. The county I live in is very hard on everything not just fire. I want to move so bad.

I like the chairs placed at a safe distance from the inferno. Be careful with that, or you'll have the neenaws around in no time!

Fires in gardens are commonplace here. And I would most likely be commended for mine being quite safe and contained. It was still smouldering on Sunday afternoon at 3pm. The chairs were put there as one chair did melt with the fire we had a month ago.

@JimBo452020 I've had chairs melt before now. Can be a bit of a let-down if you're sitting in them at the time. I'll agree that your fire is commendably contained. I live in a smokeless zone, so any kind of bonfire is frowned upon. Don't quite know how they handle barbecues and firepits, though.

@owlwings There was a snag. The washing line melted just a bit. One unhappy wife , could lead to a not so happy life.

Sitting round a fire seems to be inbred in many people - a throwback to caveman days I guess.

I like fire but not starting it. Someone has to light it up for me. I am afraid to use matches. I once almost set the kitchen on fire. I was doing a project for school with a friend. We wanted a piece of paper to look old. We lit a match and of course putting it next to the paper doesn't make it look old but burns it. That was a dumb thing to do.

@lovebuglena The sun's rays magnify through the glass. Aim it at anything and it is like a laser, burns, starts fire
