I will get the two babies the reading discovery for ages 0-2. And my two year old great-grandson the confidence and learning for ages 2-6. That is it they are getting nothing else. I told my husband that and he said BULL you will get them lots more. I know you. No I am not that is it. Now I have to figure out something for the older four great grand children. They are 8 years to 14 years. Not to early to be getting something.

I'm glad Highlights still exists! It kept me busy as a kid when I had to go to the dentist or doctor.

Those are good magazines. The other good kid's magazine is Cricket. You're a good grandma.

@jstory07 Cricket is super. I like it cause it does not dumb down for kids. If there is a word that might be hard to understand, the word is put on the side and explained, sometimes with illustrations.

I understand. It's never toe early. I gave my grandkids subscriptions to that and various book clubs and magazines.

I remember Highlights. I didn't think kids even read magazines anymore. I hope your little ones enjoy it. I know I did as a child.

'tis not like when we raised ours. these days young'uns bought schtuff year 'round, mostly'n whims, not needs. i hope ya stick with yer plan. books 're one thingy that many've not. which 'tis shockin' 'n sad to me. nary a clue fer the elder'uns. money...i jest give 'em money.

I am reminiscing my Childhood days spent with Magic pot(3-6 yrs of age). Magazines like Tell Me Why and Reader's Digest- I continue to read them even now.

I agree with your husband! Years ago my wife and l decided not to buy each other gifts but to buy each other something practical for the house. Last minute l chickened out and bought her lots of personal things! She didn't!!! She bought me a shoe rack! l actually found it quite funny!
