When we overlooked.

I was scrolling on my phone for some updates when at 8:15AM, we had unannounced power interruption. Great! My 2 other phones have about 25% draining batteries. I immediately went down at the living room, ranting why we had the disruption. Sister and neighbors too, were ranting. Sister said, 'if only she had a mobile phone that has load, she can call the electricity cooperative'. I told her,' the phone of big brother that he left me has load where she can still use'. I then went up the stairs and upon seeing our altar, I thought why the 2 electric candles are lit. I paused for a moment, then exclaimed, "We have light now". That was last 9:15AM- an hour of brownout. Sis also said she was just glancing at the altar, noticing the electric candles but did not mind it. She reacted when I said my exclamation. "Well, that happens when 2 senior citizens are so concentrated in calling the electric cooperative, and overlooking that there is already light". Our minds met in unison.

Glad it's back. One hour itself is too long for power cut.

no, for us here, an hour without power us like 10 minutes of silence. we are already accustomed to 8-12 hours of power interruption.

@ridingbet That's too long. What's the reason behind such long power cut? We too get frequent power cuts sometimes when there is thunder, heavy rain or storm. Luckily we have instant power back up in our apartment.

Expecting a power outage tonight. It was announced yesterday. Problem is, the power outage happened earlier than scheduled.

At least it was not too long. We only had two power cuts during the 21 years we have this home. I keep my phone always full charged, just in case of emergency.

@ridingbet Electricity is not expensive here, I noticed that my mom in Italy paid more than we pay here, we have two computers on all the day and many appliances, she used the electricity very little.

@LadyDuck that is great. here, our bill for last month's consumption went up by P10 only. it is not the amount, but the consumption that my sister is more concentrated to see.

but during these times that electricity bills soar high, some even wish for longer power disruption.

It's good it was only for an hour. We usually have 12-hour power interruptions here. That's why I have several powerbanks to charge my devices...

powerbanks are indeed handy. i gave a piece of this as an exchange gift to a colleague. it howver was accidentally tripped off my colleague's hand several minutes after i gave her; the pb did not fnction after that. it was not my fault, so i did not replace it anymore.

@ridingbet Awww! Yes, it is handy and very useful. I keep one(the lightest) inside my bag that I usually bring when going out and another two at home.

You people have got disturbed because of one hour's power cut! Just imagine our condition when we don't have electricity whole night some times! We mange with the power back up which only can run some important things!

@ridingbet , Yes I have gone through those discussions where you have mentioned about living without electricity for 45 days! That was in one of the discussions initiated by me! I couldn't follow your first and also the last paragraph! I couldn't get what is the problem if I address more than one person as 'you people' ? I am confused why and where from this HomoSapiens entered in the response?

excuse me, why the rant? i say so because why should you address us as YOU PEOPLE? of course i am a specie of the HomoSapiens. and i hope you were able to read some of my discussions before when we were stricken with super typhoons, that we did not have electricity and water supply for 45 days to 2 months, but still we manage. so, is opening up the brownout for an houe against the policy of this site?
