I was outside office for a while talking with someone on my cell phone because the network signal is slow in my location. We just turn off the AC since it's not that hot and use the fan only. When I get back inside, my co worker is busy with her tasks but I smell bad odor from a burnt electrical wires. I check the connections and outlets on my table and area and ask her to do the the same. We did not see anything sparkling on the electrical receptacles but the odor worsen. We then found out later after unplugging all electrical devices that the odor came from the motor of the fan and it's overheating. It could be a possible cause of fire.

Good that you could find the cause of that odor and prevent fire.

Good thing that you unplugged all and found out it was the faulty fan.

It's good you checked out your appliances. Whenever I smell burning rubber, I start checking out whatever is around.
