Therapy, Lunch, Nap

I saw my therapist before lunch. What they told me at the hospital was all wrong. They kept the knee straight and helped me when I needed to move. I need to bend the knee. Pain, yes, major pain. I will say before the end of the first session, he was impressed with me. I also have my knee at 60*, It was at 40* when I arrived. I didn't think it was that much. I was also using the wheelchair when I arrived to get to the bathroom. The wheelchair is out. The walker is in. I need to move. And move I am. After lunch, I needed to lay flat in bed with three pillows under my knee to get the knee above the heart and ice it to get the swelling to go down. I had a two hour nap. I'm sitting right now with my knee bent. I will say that after getting up and moving, I am impressed. The pain doesn't seem as bad.
I also talked to the ortho nurse on video chat. She was also impressed as she watched me move from the bathroom to the recliner. The Xeralto is causing problems with my ulcerative colitis. So they are going to get some saline nasal spray to keep the bloody nose in check and something else to help with bleeding from the ulcerative colitis. I need the blood thinner after surgery. I'm on the lowest dosage.
So, all in all, they're impressed with me. The therapist did say it's common to be in rehab for ten days more or less depending on how the patient does. This patient is going to continue to impress.
The ortho nurse also knows the importance for me to stick with my diet, so I will be seeing the dietitian at some point. Since they needed to weigh me, I will say, I'm up. Not surprised with the junk food I had in the hospital. I know they'll need to come up with something else for me for supper since chicken is on the menu.
Okay, that's the news for the day. Now to interact with you guys and try to bring my notifications way down as they're sitting at 200+ at the moment.
@crazyhorseladycx my phone is currently on the charger. As soon as I have battery life, you'll hear from me. I didn't forget.
Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. I'll find one from the bay. It's a nice calming picture.

I understand, but I don't want to gain an unsightly amount of weight before I leave here. My weight is up with being in the hospital. I don't want to see it go up further.
I'm doing good on the knee. It's better than it was yesterday. The pain is the same, but I'm moving better.

I am glad to hear you're doing well. No one said recovery wouldn't be painless. My dad went through simular when he had a knee replaced. I am working hard to not have that happen, as recovery for me would be a lot longer/harder because I have CP and my muscle fuction is.... unusal at the best of times. Good luck. Hope that you continue to recover well.

Really a soothing photo. Glad all went all right for you. I have a painful knee that in its life has had an operation for a torn cartilage. When it hurts in bad weather it always starts feeling better when I bend it. Have a good night,

@just4him bending indeed helps. It just made me chuckle now thinking if we lived close by the two of us could do that children's rhyme ring around the rosy because it would get out knees bending and it ends with we all fall down and I am sure at the end we would be ready to fall down

@RasmaSandra Though falling down wouldn't be pretty. I have a hard time getting back up. We'll see what these new knees do for me.

sorry for the weight gain, though I'm sure you expected it with not being home and eating how you usually do.
