I am truly taking it easy today. After my nap, hubby made coffee and I mixed up ingredients for peanut butter balls. The mix is chilling. I will scoop it into little 2 oz. balls, freeze them for now, and then melt chocolate coating. I will coat them with chocolate and roll them in coconut. I wanted ice cream, so instead of lunch, we drove to the closest Sonic Drive In which is in Hillsboro, and had small milk shakes. Cold enough to give us brain freeze. I chose classic strawberry, he had peanut butter. On the way home we drove around the county lake. Then he turned left instead of right and we found ourselves driving into Marion. Then we came home. Hubby is having a nap, I had coffee. I am going to post this, and then go sew, or do some other stuff. It is nice to be able to just pop in, without having to refresh and refresh. I hope I do not jinx it.

It does sound like you took it easy today and enjoyed a nice drive as well. It has been a long time since I've been to sonic, but I like their real fruit frozen limeades the best.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Normally we do extra things on our trip to Sonic, but I deserved to be spoiled.

@GardenGerty They do. Ours isn't close enough to justify a visit. We visit after going to the goodwill down the street, or to the Mexican restaurant down the street.

Not at Sonic. When we shop again I will get a big gallon of vanilla ice cream and proceed to make custom shakes for less. . . a small milk shake only costs less than a gallon of ice cream. They used to sell a jalapeno chocolate one he liked.

What's in the peanut butter balls besides the obvious?

@sallypup It could easily use less honey. The dietician sent an energy ball recipe that had oatmeal. I did not like it very well, I think because hubby made them. They were too dry. He does not like to measure. They had raisins in them, but dates would be tasty as well. I once made banana bread and forgot the sugar. It still was very good.

@GardenGerty I have started putting half the sugar called for in banana bread- bananas have their own natural sugar.

They never have made it to your area. Neither has Braums, our other favorite. Where do you go for ice cream treats?

@Courtlynn I did not realize they ever made it clear to RI, hubby is partly from there. Middletown. In Minnesota the big thing is Culver's, but my daughter says it is not as good as Braums.
