When I was in the capital of Tajikistan, I always see this signage. I find it odd seeing a kangaroo introducing shawarma. We all knew that the main ingredient is meat. Is it kangaroo's meat? I keep on brushing off the idea that it is.at that time. I keep on finding new things here though. I will try to dig my old photos and share the others here.
Do you like taking photos of odd things?

Shawarma is what we in the UK tend to call doner kebab (mostly because our vendors come from Turkey and Cyprus). It's a large cone of meat rotating on a spit before a vertical wall of fire. As the meat cooks on the outside, thin slices are carved off and served in pitta bread with loads of salad and sauces of your choice.

I wondered at first why the sign was in Cyrillic but then I saw that it was taken in Tajikistan. I have no idea what kangaroos have to do with Tajikistan OR with shawarma! Maybe he's just a mascot, like Ronald McDonald. Kangaroos have pockets and shawarma is often served in a pocket of pitta bread or similar.

I also wondering about it, too. I guess you are right. It can be a mascot since they are creating their own ways At that time, I always crave for McDonald's, KFC, and the like. I was able to satisfy myself eating in their local fast food with a mascot of a pirate.

It's most probably just a mascot, having a bee in Jollibee does not necessarily mean that their burgers or food contain bees, perhaps honey
