I could not resist that heading. I love the name of this bird Potto and as silly as he looks he is also adorable. The bird has yellow eyes that bulge out, It makes its home in Central and South America and enjoys a diet of large flying insects like moths. The Potoo is a nocturnal bird and sleeps the days away. It is amazing to see this bird sleep upright on a tree branch. It blends in well with trees since its feathers are green, gray, and brown, In this way, it is camouflaged as it sleeps during the daylight hours, If you happen to go into the rainforest at nighttime you'll get a bit of a scare seeing the Pootoo with its huge yellow eyes, long neck, and largemouth to better catch those flying insects, These are also monogamous breeders and once they have chosen a mate will share in the incubation and caring of the chick. Usually, it is one chick and instead of building a nest, they lay the egg in the crook of a tree branch or in a tree stump. Wouldn't you just love to wake up in the night and see those big, bufging, yellow eyes looking at you?

I think it’s adorable! It looks a bit like an owl, too.

@DianneN he is rather adorable if I had him in a cage I wouldn't need the light from my clock to light the area where I sleep

Thanks for sharing this. I haven't heard of them before. Amazing how they can blend in and not become prey during the day.
