The Saddest Thought.

As my daughter checked my closet clothes, most of which are unworn slacks and sweaters from my mother several years ago, she asked me if I was ever going to use those. 'Probably not,' I answered. 'What about the winter jackets?' 'Nope.' And she tossed two towards me saying 'these still smells California.'
The scent smells of the forex boxes we received years ago. We call it the scent of America.
That's when mushiness overcame me. My parents are buried in California. California is burning right now. All my family is there, including a brother in charge of a CoViD-19 respiratory ward, and two beloved special nephews.
I could have been in that hellfire, too, had I not willfully forfeited my visa, a promise to my mother broken. I just couldn't imagine my siblings panicking, running away from fire.
Heavenly Powers, Mary's legion of angels, protect my family, I implore thee.

Thus far they are. Albeit the fire is spreading fast and furious. Evacuation alerts are up. The people do not know actually where to take shelter from the fire, for the fire is everywhere.

@thelme55 Unfortunately, there had been casualties. The firefighters are making a stand but it's been so long and there's no reprieve.
It is a difficult time to be in California.

@eileenleyva seriously?
They are that close to the fire? Shouldn't they evacuate already?

If you pray for God to protect your family, he surely will. God sends angels, to protect us.

Thus far, my family's all right. On the alert for any eventuality. The fire is consuming. The heat is overbearing. The firefighters are feeling the fatigue.
I believe in the Powers, yes. Thank you.

Our eldest sibling said she is so afraid of the fires. She can feel the heat and inhale the smoke.
Humbling my self in prayer for the safety of my family. I am desperately and truly sad.
Thank you very much for the sympathy.
