How I Carried the Cake

to the 4th floor without an elevator. Of course, with my hands.. Sorry, I just can´t help it to make a joke.. Rebelann asked me to share how I did it.
Well, before I have done it, I did a lot of research online on how to pack the cake which was taller than the cake box. Thankfully, youtube was handy and I have learned many things. I had to cut pieces of cartons to fix them on the sides of the cake box. I had to cover the opening of the box with cellophane and tape the sides so no dirt would go inside the cake.
It was good. I could carry the cake but what if my hands are tired before I reach the 4th floor? What if someone bumps on me while I transport the cake upstairs? I have made a lot of scenarios the night before I delivered the cake. I had a hard time sleeping. I kept on praying that night that everything would be alright.
The night before I went to bed, I saw the folding plastic box for carrying groceries in the bathroom. My brain was working hard and I thought, well I could use this. The cake box fitted in the folding plastic box and so my husband washed it for me. That was the solution.
My husband delivered me to the celebrants home and I carried the cake comfortably up to the 4th floor while my friend and her son carried the 2 boxes of cupcakes upstairs.. The birthday girl went down to greet my hubby and he gave her our gift. He couldn´t go up because it would be too much for his lungs without a lift.
Well, as you can see, that walking and zumba every week keeps me fit. Thanks for reading. Have a nice weekend.

The folding plastic box was really a good solution. Sometimes I use it for putting the dried clothes for ironing and so it was very handy. So, you don´t need to go out of the house to keep you fit. That´s great. Thanks @LadyDuck. Have a nice Monday.

From what I can see it was very smart how you did it. I bet even though the Zumba and the exercise it was still hard with no elevator. Yes, one can imagine if someone needs to get past and bumps you and does not pay attention you could drop them. I am so glad you had help with the cupcakes getting up there. I am so glad all of you made it in one piece and that you could relax after they were put on the table.

That lovely cake speaks a ton about your baking talent
Why no lift? Was it not working?
Well that would have been a lot of exercise to climb up the stairs!!

Thank you very much @arunima25.
It is an old building and so no lift was built in there.
Yes, it was indeed my exercise.

@thelme55 Oh! I see. I am sure it would be an inconvenience for residents there especially elderly and people with health issues. Surely your Zumba and walking is effective

Job well done. As you must be aware I run a cake shop. We get lot of cakes which are taller than the cake boxes with a hole in the top side of the box big enough to accommodate the cake top and sleet open to insert the cake inside the box which is then packed with a cello tape. I know how difficult it is to keep the box inside ice cream freezer because normal cake counter can not accommodate it and it has to be preserved in cool condition until the customer comes to take the delivery. It is great of you to carry such cake climbing 4 floors. Well done.

@hereandthere she said it’s not really business for her but a hobby. She’s not after the number of order. She even said no to a second cousin who is known for being fussy

@hereandthere It is only a hobby. If it is a business, it is not fun anymore.
