Feeling pet deprived

Its been years since I have had a pet. I live an apartment complex with lots of traffic for one thing. Then there is the cost. I have had cats and dogs. The truth is I'm more of a cat person. I prefer cats because they are easier to take care of in an apartment. My neighbor has a dog and I think they must put that dog out ten times a day and he barks constantly.
I love Siamese cats. My next cat is going to be one and I'm going to name her Cleopatra. What about yourself? Do you have pets? Do you prefer cats or dogs? Why do you prefer one over the other? Thank you for stopping by.

My outdoor cat was named Cleopatra, one of the strays.
I have a dog, she is getting older now and doesn't want to be by herself
A cat can take care of itself, and not need as much attention as a dog, but I like them both.

It seems to be a perfect name for cats for some reasons. I love all animals too but dogs are a handful to me. I had one before I divorced my ex husband and had to find him a home because I knew my ex would have probably just abandoned him somewhere. He was always getting out of the yard causing problems with the neighbors digging holes in their yards and other things. Chasing cars and got hit and had to take him to the vet. I did everything I could to make sure there was no way out of the fence but he always managed. Have a great day or night.

I love your Meezer photo. I live with four felines and two canines. I am addicted to Meezers. My current rascal blue eyed boy, Beau Teak, came from my local Shelter. I love both cats and dogs. Both my dogs are precious to me. Both dogs are quite intelligent. I enjoy teaching them to work with me on things like heel and smaller things like 'in the gate!' etc. I refuse to dumb down any person, human or fur. Never a dull moment at my house.

@DearAphrodite My profile picture is Sonny James kitty. He and I are having a battle. He is edging into being a senior and a few weeks ago he suddenly decided hard kibble was not his bag. I took him to the Vet- 200 dollar later, blood test came back good except for blood sugar numbers. So on we go, me giving him mostly canned food and me telling the others that yummy is not for them. I don't know what else to do and yet I have a feeling that Sonny knows that if he does not eat hard food for a while, I will cave and give him yummy treats. I hope he is not working on an unfound tumor or some such. He acts pretty lively still.

Thank you. I think I would have to live in the country to have a dog again. Honestly dogs are to high strung for me. My husband and I agree a couple cats would be nice. The funny thing is we both like Cokateals. That probably would not be a good idea if we got cats. I agree that no animal should be made to dumb down. That's why I would not have a dog at this time. I dont have enough room to give them.

Not sure I could live any place where I couldn't have a pet. Cats and dogs both have their perks, but I am a cat person myself.

Cats are easier to take care of. Dogs have to be walking at least 3 times a day. Before I had my own pets I babysat a simamese cat and it went crazy. Here in Israel when I got my hair cut before we were at the person's mother's home and she had a Siamese cat. The cat kept coming by us and I had a cat at home and it saw right through my soul and liked me and let me pet her. Her name was Brigitte. I like both very much. We have a very small place so not good for a dog because they need plenty of room. I have a cat.
