Whew!!

Whew, I got here, and I got in. Not long until I go to bed. I did go to McPherson, but chose not to get my shingles shot. I want to feel well rested when I do, and this week I am not feeling well rested. I picked up some things at Wal Mart, as well as from my sister. Bob had a book on order at the library, but it was not what he expected. We were going to eat out. It looks like some of the places that had opened for indoor dining have closed back down and only have drive through. If I have to eat in my car, why bother. We came home and ate. Much less expensive, too. Tomorrow is going to be quite a bit cooler. I am looking forward to that.

't least ya still got'cher shoppin' done :) 'twas mr. bob's book a bad 'nexpected 'r a good'un? i reckon time'll tell. not so sure 'bout the shingles shot. 've ya'd such prior (shingles)? my sweet momma did 'n then later got the shot. she's jest recovered from a bout 'f such a few months back. would'a ne'er suspected 't coz there 'twas no rash, jest the pain. doc said that's what happens, still get shingles without the rash. so, best 'f luck when ya decide to get 't. they'be be shuttin' schtuff down here 'gain, too. not 'nough folks doin' what they ought'a (personal hygiene, wearin' a proper fittin' mask 'n social distancin') - our numbers 're climbin' swiftly. gonna be 30 degrees cooler here, not lookin' ferward to such, lol.

I also saw my sister. I guess part of what sold me on the shot was that getting the shingles can affect your heart. Once you have had shingles yes, you can suffer with "post herpetic neuralgia" and the pain keeps coming back without a rash. That is how I understand it anyway. The shot they give now is more effective than what they used to, but you get it in two installments. Working around kids, the way I understand, I am likely to get shingles when they have chicken pox. Not sure if that is true.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh, the book he expected he read the title in a bibliography of another book. For some reason he thought it would be an Elliot Ness type thing, and a decent size book. Instead it was about a riot or massacre or something in an Irish bar and he said it was so short he could read it in fifteen minutes, but he did not want to even read it. He started it while I visited my sister and that was enough for him. We took it back to the library.

We prefer eating at home even if there are some restaurants open

I have not had it, do not want it, so that is why I am taking the shot.

It probably has always been chancy to eat out. We just know a whole lot more now, and have one more disease to fear.

@GardenGerty A restaurant with a good hygiene was fine, we always avoided buffets, because too many hands touched everything. Right now nothing is safe.

No matter where we go, except for a little mom and pop cafe, our food would be stone cold when we got home.

Nothing really is close to our home. We did eat Little Caesar's in the car one Sunday. Man, that pizza was hot!

Starting in June we have done just a little. Mostly, if we are going to be away from home at meal time we take sandwiches or salads with us.
