When expectations failed

Sometimes expectations of something or someone cannot be avoided. Like graduations,a graduate might expecting gifts from relatives or parents but it was failed,or on birthdays..might expecting a surprised from a friend but failed. Did you experienced such failures beyond your expectations?How do you feel?

Yes it also happened to me after my dad failed to give gifts to me which promised me, I felt very bad and disappointed too.
