Compassionate self awareness

What concept have you learnt and it really impacted your life?
For me, that concept is compassionate self awareness. It has helped to:
1. Deal with my emotions.
2. Get over addictions.
3. Let go of bad habits.
4. Relate well with people.
5. Deal with life challenges.
Those are just but a few benefits that I have had since I learnt compassionate self awareness.
Compassionate self awareness comprises of two important components: self awareness and self compassion which are so important in life.
Self awareness is the act of being in sync with your body through being aware of your thoughts, emotions and ability to mentalize and assess them.
Self compassion on the other hand is the act of wanting what is best for yourself. It consists of self kindness where you treat yourself so well and with love. Even when you make mistakes, you avoid self criticism and desire to change your mistake and do better. It also comprises of the idea of common humanity where you become aware that other people go through what you go through too. You are not alone. Knowing this can make you stop being so miserable and feeling different or comparing your life with others. Lastly, self compassion also comprises of mindfulness in which you become aware of your here and now and fully accept it. It helps you deal with intense emotions easily if you accept them as they are.
This is a very good concept that I like alot and it has helped me immensely. I hope it helps someone here too.
