This two words have really a big difference. Are you a type of person who do command?or request? For me i always talk in a request way. I hate listening people who doesn't know how to request. In short i hate commanding manner. I guess those commanding kind of people has an ego and they cannot humble themselves. Well if you command put yourself in a right place. That's what i know. How about you?

I like it when someone says Please. It is a request and more polite to hear.

It all depends on the situation on how you deal with the person.
