I am currently a full time college student going to school for my Associates of Applied Science with my major being Health Information Management Systems and my minor in Medical Coding and Billing. My anticipated graduation is May of 2022.
I currently have a typing speed of 72 AWPM on a 3 minute test and a 10 key speed of 8560 with an accuracy of 99.3%.
If there is anyone who is currently doing this as a job/career I would love to hear from you and pick your brain as to what I need to be working on right now so that when I graduate I am able to jump right in.
I know that I need to work on getting my typing speeds faster, especially my 10 key. I have scheduled on my calendar to test every Sunday and I will be keeping a log to see how I am progressing.
I would love any tips anyone has that will help me.

I am not into that job but yes I type a lot on my laptop. And I am pretty good with it with years of practice. I can type without actually looking at keyboard every time. I guess it becomes a part our muscular memory.

Have you taken any typing tests to see what your typing speed is? I helped my daughter increase her speed from 6WPM to 36WMP in 3 months. Every time she asked me a question I made her look it up and type me out 2 paragraphs about the question.
She hated it at the time, but was amazed at the results she got. I tried to have her do Mavis Beacom but she really didn't like that so we went the research way. Her teachers were very impressed with her speed as a 4th grader.
Have a great day and may the pay out odds be ever in your favor!

My idea is to post a lot on here and to do weekly tests to see how I am progressing. I am up from 68WPM so that is good.
I really need to work on my 10-key typing speed because I will be using that a lot with my new career.
Have a great day and may the pay out odds be ever in your favor!
